Ishmael made captives of all the rest of the people who were in Mizpah— the king’s daughters along with all the others who were left there, over whom Nebuzaradan commander of the imperial guard had appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam. Ishmael son of Nethaniah took them captive and set out to cross over to the Ammonites.

Nebuzaradan was the commander of the royal guard. He had appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam over all the people at Mizpah. But Ishmael made prisoners of the people left at Mizpah. These prisoners included women who were members of the royal court. The prisoners also included everyone else left at Mizpah. Then Ishmael started out to go across the Jordan River to the land of Ammon.

Then Ishmael took captive all the rest of the people who were in Mizpah, the king’s daughters and all the people who were left at Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, had committed to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam. Ishmael the son of Nethaniah took them captive and set out to cross over to the Ammonites.

Then Ishmael made captives of the king’s daughters and the other people who had been left under Gedaliah’s care in Mizpah by Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard. Taking them with him, he started back toward the land of Ammon.

Then Ishmael took captive all the rest of the people of Mizpah including the daughters of the king— all those who remained in Mizpah over whom Nebuzaradan, captain of the guards, had appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam. Ishmael son of Nethaniah took them captive and set off to cross over to the Ammonites.

Then Ishmael took captive all the remnant of the people who were in Mizpah, the king’s daughters and all the people who were left in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard had put in the custody of Gedaliah the son of Ahikam. Ishmael the son of Nethaniah took them captive and proceeded to cross over to the sons of Ammon.

Then Ishmael carried away captive all the rest of the people who were in Mizpah, the king’s daughters and all the people who remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had committed to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam. And Ishmael the son of Nethaniah carried them away captive and departed to go over to the Ammonites.

Then Ishmael carried away captive all the residue of the people that were in Mizpah, even the king’s daughters, and all the people that remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had committed to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam; Ishmael the son of Nethaniah carried them away captive, and departed to go over to the children of Ammon.

Then Ishmael took captive all the remnant of the people of Mizpah including the daughters of the king— all those who remained in Mizpah over whom Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, had appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam. Then Ishmael took captive all the people who were still left alive in Mizpah. This included the royal princesses and all the rest of the people in Mizpah that Nebuzaradan, the captain of the royal guard, had put under the authority of Gedaliah son of Ahikam. Ishmael son of Nethaniah took all these people captive and set out to cross over to the Ammonites.

Then Ishmael carried away captive all of the people who were left in Mizpah, even the king’s daughters, and all the people who remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had committed to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam. Ishmael the son of Nethaniah carried them away captive, and departed to go over to the children of Ammon.

和倫人參巴拉和為奴的亞捫人多比雅聽見了這事，就大大不高興有人來為以色列人謀求福利。

當那些日子、猶大顯貴的人寄了許多的信到多比雅那裏；多比雅也常寄信到他們那裏。在猶大有許多人是多比雅的盟誓黨徒，因為他是亞拉的兒子示迦尼的女婿；並且他的兒子約哈難也娶了比利迦的兒子米書蘭的女兒為妻。

加利亞的兒子約哈難和眾將軍便帶領了猶大所有餘剩之民、就是從被放逐到的各國回來、住在猶大地的男人、婦人、幼童、和王的女兒們、跟護衛長尼布撒拉旦所留在沙番的孫子亞希甘的兒子基大利那裏的眾人和神言人耶利米、以及尼利亞的兒子巴錄；這些人就進了埃及地，因為他們不聽從永恆主的聲音；他們逕自去到答比匿。

我必使猶大餘剩之民、那些硬着頭皮進了埃及地去寄居在那裏的、都滅絕掉；他們必在埃及地仆倒，必因刀劍和饑荒而滅絕；他們從小的到大的都必因刀劍和饑荒而死亡，以致成了令人咒罵、令人驚駭、令人咒詛羞辱的對象。我必察罰那些住埃及地的，正像我察罰了耶路撒冷一樣，用刀劍、饑荒和瘟疫，使那些進去寄居在埃及地那裏的猶大餘剩之民都不得以逃脫或殘存，而返回他們心中所仰慕回去居住的猶大地；他們不得回去，只有一些逃脫的能夠回去罷了。』

永恆主這麼說：『要把這個人登記為無子嗣位的，是儘他一生日子都不亨通順利的，因為他後裔中無一人亨通順利能坐大衛寶座，或再統治猶大的。』

巴比倫王在利比拉當西底家眼前將他的眾兒子都宰殺掉；巴比倫王也宰殺了猶大所有顯貴的人，

參巴拉、多比雅、亞拉伯人、亞捫人、亞實突人、聽說修復耶路撒冷城牆的事節節進行着，而破口的地方都開始堵塞住了，他們就非常惱怒。大家一同計謀要來攻打耶路撒冷，使城內擾亂。

這事以前、祭司以利亞實、受派於我們的上帝之殿的貯藏室作事的、因為和多比雅很接近，便為多比雅豫備了一間大廂房：就是以前在那裏收存着素祭品、乳香、器皿、和五穀、新酒、新油等的十分之一、做利未人、歌唱者、守門者、應得的分兒和歸祭司的提獻物的。這一切事發生的時候、我不在耶路撒冷；因為巴比倫王亞達薛西三十二年我到王那裏去；而在我向王請假的日期終了以後，我來到耶路撒冷，就了解以利亞實在上帝之殿的院中為多比雅豫備廂房的那件壞事。我很不高興，就把多比雅家裏一切器具都從廂房裏拋出。
