However, before Jeremiah turned to go, Nebuzaradan added,“ Go back to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has appointed over the towns of Judah, and live with him among the people, or go anywhere else you please.” Then the commander gave him provisions and a present and let him go.

But before Jeremiah turned to go, Nebuzaradan continued,“ Go back to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam. The king of Babylon has appointed Gedaliah to be over the towns of Judah. Go and live with him among your people. Or go anywhere else you want to.” Ahikam was the son of Shaphan. The commander gave Jeremiah food and water. He also gave him a gift. Then he let Jeremiah go.

If you remain, then return to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon appointed governor of the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people. Or go wherever you think it right to go.” So the captain of the guard gave him an allowance of food and a present, and let him go.

If you decide to stay, then return to Gedaliah son of Ahikam and grandson of Shaphan. He has been appointed governor of Judah by the king of Babylon. Stay there with the people he rules. But it’s up to you; go wherever you like.” Then Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, gave Jeremiah some food and money and let him go.

When Jeremiah had not yet turned to go, Nebuzaradan said to him,“ Return to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has appointed over the cities of Judah, and stay with him among the people or go wherever it seems right for you to go.” So the captain of the guards gave him a ration and a gift and released him.

Go back and live with him among the people. Or go wherever else you choose.” Then the captain of the guard gave Jeremiah some food and a present and let him go.

Now while he had not yet gone back,“ Go back then,” he said,“ to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go.” So the captain of the guard gave him food and a present, and let him go.

把耶利米从卫兵的院子里提出来，交给沙番的孙子、亚希甘的儿子基大利，叫他带耶利米回家去。这样，耶利米就住在人民中间。

以利沙来到大马士革。亚兰王便．哈达患了病。有人告诉他说：“神人来到这里了。”王对哈薛说：“你带着礼物，去见神人，托他求问耶和华说：‘我这病能痊愈吗？’”于是哈薛去见以利沙。他带着礼物，就是大马士革各样的美物，由四十匹骆驼驮着，去站在他的面前，说：“你的儿子亚兰王便．哈达派我到你这里来，问你说：‘我这病能痊愈吗？’”

尼探雅的儿子以实玛利和与他一起的那十个人就起来，用刀袭击沙番的孙子、亚希甘的儿子基大利，就是巴比伦王指派管理那地的，把他杀掉。

王又吩咐希勒家祭司、沙番的儿子亚希甘、米该亚的儿子亚革博、书记沙番和王的臣仆及亚撒雅说：

至于在犹大地剩下来的人民，就是巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒留下来的，巴比伦王委派沙番的孙子、亚希甘的儿子基大利管理他们。众将领和他们的士兵，听见巴比伦王委派了基大利，他们就来到米斯巴去见基大利；其中有尼探雅的儿子以实玛利、加利亚的儿子约哈难、尼陀法人单户篾的儿子西莱雅、玛迦人的儿子雅撒尼亚，以及他们的士兵。基大利向他们和他们的士兵起誓，又对他们说：“你们不必惧怕迦勒底的官员，只管住在这地，服事巴比伦王，就可以平安无事。”

人所行的，若是蒙耶和华喜悦，耶和华也使他的仇敌与他和好。

第二天到了西顿，犹流宽待保罗，准他去看看朋友，接受他们的招待。

这位以斯拉是一位经学家，精通耶和华以色列的神赐给摩西的律法；因为耶和华他神的手帮助他，所以王赐他所求的一切，他就从巴比伦上来。

人谦卑的时候，你就说：‘升高吧！’眼中谦卑的他必拯救，

然而沙番的儿子亚希甘却保护耶利米，不许人把耶利米交在人民的手中处死。

吩咐希勒家和沙番的儿子亚希甘、米迦的儿子亚比顿、书记沙番，以及王的臣仆亚撒雅，说：

但百夫长想要救保罗，就阻止他们这样行。他吩咐会游泳的跳下水去，先到岸上，

以斯拉说：“耶和华我们列祖的神是应该称颂的，因为他把这样的意念放在君王的心里，使他修饰那在耶路撒冷的耶和华的殿；

于是希勒家祭司、亚希甘、亚革博、沙番、亚撒雅去见女先知户勒大。她就是掌管礼服的沙龙的妻子，沙龙是哈珥哈斯的孙子、特瓦的儿子。她住在耶路撒冷第二区；他们就把事情都告诉了她。

王问我：“你想要什么呢？”我就向天上的神祷告，然后对王说：“如果王认为好，仆人能在你面前蒙恩宠，就请你差派我往犹大，到我列祖坟墓所在的城去，让我重建那城。”那时，王后坐在王的旁边。王问我：“你的行程需时多久？你什么时候回来？”王既然认为好，就差派我去，我也定了一个归期。我又问王：“王若是认为好，请赐给我诏书，通知河西那边的省长准我经过，直至我到达犹大；又赐诏书，给看守王的园林的亚萨，吩咐他给我木材，建造圣殿的营楼大门的横梁，以及建造城墙和我要入住的房屋。”因为我的神施恩的手帮助我，王就赐给我这一切。

我现在解开你手上的铁链。你若认为与我一同到巴比伦去好，就一起去，我必好好照顾你；你若认为与我一同到巴比伦去不好，就不必去。看，全地都在你面前，你认为去哪里好、哪里合宜，就到哪里去吧！”

所以我们可以放胆说：“主是我的帮助，我决不害怕，人能把我怎么样呢？”

主啊，求你留意听你仆人的祷告，也听那些喜爱敬畏你名的仆人的祷告；求你使你的仆人今天顺利，使他在这人面前蒙怜悯。”那时我是王的酒政。

耶和华说：“我必为你的好处释放你；在遭遇祸患和灾难的时候，我必叫你的仇敌恳求你。

他们多方面尊敬我们；到开船的时候，又把我们所需要的东西送来。

君王的心在耶和华手中，好像水沟的水，他可以随意转移。

犹大王约雅斤被掳后第三十七年，就是巴比伦王以未．米罗达登基的那一年，十二月二十五日，他恩待（“恩待”原文作“使抬起头来”）犹大王约雅斤，把他从狱中领出来，并且安慰他，使他的地位高过和他一起在巴比伦的众王。又换下他的囚衣，赐他终生常在王面前吃饭。他的生活费用，在他一生的年日中，每日不断由巴比伦王供应，直到他去世的日子。
