加利亚的儿子约哈难在米斯巴私下对基大利说：“求你容我去杀尼探雅的儿子以实玛利，必无人知道。何必让他要你的命，使聚集到你这里来的犹大人都分散，以致犹大剩下的人都灭亡呢？”

后来，加利亚的儿子约哈难在米斯巴私下对基大利说：“让我去杀掉尼探雅的儿子以实玛利吧！没人会知道。何必让他来杀害你，以致汇集到你这里的犹大余民再度分散、灭亡呢？”

后来加利亚的儿子约哈难在米斯巴私下告诉基大利说：“请容我去把尼探雅的儿子以实玛利杀了，必没有人知道；为什么要让他杀你，以致集合到你那里来的所有犹大人都分散，犹大余剩的人都灭亡呢？”

Then Johanan son of Kareah said privately to Gedaliah in Mizpah,“ Let me go and kill Ishmael son of Nethaniah, and no one will know it. Why should he take your life and cause all the Jews who are gathered around you to be scattered and the remnant of Judah to perish?”

Then Johanan, the son of Kareah, spoke in private to Gedaliah in Mizpah. He said,“ Let me go and kill Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah. No one will know about it. Why should he take your life? Why should he cause all the Jews gathered around you to be scattered? Why should he cause the people who remain in Judah to die?”

Then Johanan the son of Kareah spoke secretly to Gedaliah at Mizpah,“ Please let me go and strike down Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no one will know it. Why should he take your life, so that all the Judeans who are gathered about you would be scattered, and the remnant of Judah would perish?”

Later Johanan had a private conference with Gedaliah and volunteered to kill Ishmael secretly.“ Why should we let him come and murder you?” Johanan asked.“ What will happen then to the Judeans who have returned? Why should the few of us who are still left be scattered and lost?”

Then Johanan son of Kareah suggested to Gedaliah in private at Mizpah,“ Let me go kill Ishmael son of Nethaniah. No one will know it. Why should he kill you and allow all of Judah that has gathered around you to scatter and the remnant of Judah to perish?”

Then Johanan the son of Kareah spoke secretly to Gedaliah in Mizpah, saying,“ Let me go and kill Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no one will know! Why should he take your life, so that all the Jews who are gathered to you would be scattered and the remnant of Judah would perish?”

Then Johanan the son of Kareah spoke secretly to Gedaliah in Mizpah, saying,“ Let me go, please, and I will kill Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no one will know it. Why should he murder you, so that all the Jews who are gathered to you would be scattered, and the remnant in Judah perish?”

Then Johanan the son of Kareah spake to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly, saying, Let me go, I pray thee, and I will slay Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall know it: wherefore should he take thy life, that all the Jews that are gathered unto thee should be scattered, and the remnant of Judah perish?

Then Johanan son of Kareah suggested to Gedaliah in private at Mizpah,“ Let me go kill Ishmael son of Nethaniah. No one will know it. Why should he kill you and scatter all of Judah that has gathered to you so that the remnant of Judah would perish?”

Then Johanan the son of Kareah spake to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly, saying, Let me go, I pray thee, and I will slay Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall know[ it]: wherefore should he slay thee, that all the Jews which are gathered unto thee should be scattered, and the remnant in Judah perish?

Then Johanan son of Kareah spoke privately to Gedaliah there at Mizpah,“ Let me go and kill Ishmael the son of Nethaniah before anyone knows about it. Otherwise he will kill you and all the Judeans who have rallied around you will be scattered. Then what remains of Judah will disappear.”

Then Johanan the son of Kareah spoke to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly, saying,“ Please let me go, and I will kill Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man will know it. Why should he take your life, that all the Jews who are gathered to you should be scattered, and the remnant of Judah perish?”

洗魯雅的兒子亞比篩幫助了大衛；亞比篩擊打那非利士人，把他殺死了。那時，跟隨大衛的人向他起誓說：“以後你不可再與我們一同出去打仗，免得以色列的燈熄滅了。”

亞比篩對大衛說：“今天神把你的仇敵交在你手裡了。現在求你容我用矛把他刺透在地上，一刺就夠，不必再刺。”

眾人卻說：“你不可以出戰。因為如果我們逃跑，他們不會把我們放在心上，即使我們死了一半，他們也不會把我們放在心上。因為你一個人抵得上我們一萬人；所以你最好還是留在城裡，隨時支援我們。”

對耶利米先知說：“求你容我們向你懇求，請為我們這餘剩的民向耶和華你的神禱告；因為我們從前人數眾多，現在剩下的極少，就像你現在親眼所見的一樣。

但耶和華啊！你認識我，了解我，你察驗了我對你的心意。求你把他們拉出來，好像將宰的羊一般；求你把他們分別出來，留待宰殺的日子。這地悲哀，田野的青草都枯乾，要等到幾時呢？由於這地居民的惡行，走獸和飛鳥都滅絕了；因為他們說：“神看不見我們的結局。”

跟隨大衛的人對他說：“耶和華曾應許你說：‘我要把你的仇敵交在你的手裡，你可以隨意待他。’看哪！今天就是時候了。”於是大衛起來，悄悄地割下掃羅外袍的衣邊。

也不去想想，一個人代替人民死，免得整個民族滅亡，這對你們是有益的。”

“人子啊！那些住在以色列地廢墟裡的人常說：‘亞伯拉罕一個人就得了這地為業；我們人數眾多，這地更應該給我們為業。’因此，你要對他們說：‘主耶和華這樣說：你們吃帶血的祭肉，舉目仰望你們的偶像，並且流人的血，你們還可以得這地為業嗎？你們倚仗自己的刀劍，行可憎惡的事，人人玷污鄰舍的妻子，你們還可以得這地為業嗎？’你要對他們這樣說：‘主耶和華這樣說：我指著我的永生起誓，那些在廢墟裡的，必倒在刀下；在田間的，我必交給野獸吞吃；在堡壘和山洞裡的，必因瘟疫而死。我必使這地非常荒涼，它因勢力而有的驕傲必止息；以色列的山都必荒涼，無人經過。我必因他們所行一切可憎惡的事，使這地非常荒涼，那時他們就知道我是耶和華。’

我家裡的人若沒有說：‘誰能找出哪一個沒有飽吃他的肉食的呢？’
