在摩押、亞捫、以東、諸邑之猶大人、聞巴比倫王、遺猶大人國民數人、使沙番孫亞希甘子其大利為方伯。

在摩押、亞捫、以東、及諸國所有猶大人、聞巴比倫王留遺民於猶大、並立沙番孫亞希甘子基大利轄之、

When all the Jews in Moab, Ammon, Edom and all the other countries heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant in Judah and had appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, as governor over them,

All the Jews in Moab, Ammon and Edom heard what had happened. So did the Jews in all the other countries. They heard that the king of Babylon had left some people behind in Judah. They also heard that he had appointed Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, as governor over them. Ahikam was the son of Shaphan.

Likewise, when all the Judeans who were in Moab and among the Ammonites and in Edom and in other lands heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant in Judah and had appointed Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, as governor over them,

When the Judeans in Moab, Ammon, Edom, and the other nearby countries heard that the king of Babylon had left a few people in Judah and that Gedaliah was the governor,

When all the Judeans in Moab and among the Ammonites and in Edom and in all the other lands also heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant in Judah and had appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, over them,

Likewise, also all the Jews who were in Moab and among the sons of Ammon and in Edom, and who were in all the other countries, heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant for Judah, and that he had appointed over them Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan.

Likewise, when all the Jews who were in Moab, among the Ammonites, in Edom, and who were in all the countries, heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant of Judah, and that he had set over them Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan,

When all the Judeans in Moab and among the Ammonites and in Edom and in all the other lands also heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant in Judah and had appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, over them,

Likewise when all the Jews that[ were] in Moab, and among the Ammonites, and in Edom, and that[ were] in all the countries, heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant of Judah, and that he had set over them Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan;

Moreover, all the Judeans who were in Moab, Ammon, Edom, and all the other countries heard what had happened. They heard that the king of Babylon had allowed some people to stay in Judah and that he had appointed Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam and grandson of Shaphan, to govern them.

Likewise when all the Jews who were in Moab, and among the children of Ammon, and in Edom, and who were in all the countries, heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant of Judah, and that he had set over them Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan;

讓摩押那些被趕逐的人與你同住，求你作他們的隱密處，使他們脫離毀滅者的面。勒索人的必要終止，毀滅人的也將止息，欺壓人的必從這地滅絕；

我必使他們成為地上萬國所驚恐、所討厭的；在我趕逐他們到的各地方，成為被人羞辱、譏笑、嘲弄、咒詛的對象。

主耶和華這樣說：因為你手舞足蹈，心存輕蔑，因以色列地的遭遇而歡喜。

你的人民三分之一必在你中間因瘟疫死亡，因饑荒消滅；三分之一必在你周圍因刀劍倒斃；三分之一，我要分散到四方去，我還要拔刀追趕他們。

亞捫人拿轄上來，安營攻擊基列．雅比。所有的雅比人都對拿轄說：“你與我們立約，我們就服事你。”

主耶和華這樣說：“因為以東向猶大家報仇雪恨。他們這樣作，就犯了大罪。

因為你永遠懷恨，在以色列人遭遇災難，刑罰到了頂點的時候，你把他們交在刀劍之下，

於是，以掃住在西珥山上。以掃就是以東。

外地人劫掠雅各財物的日子，外族人進入他的城門，為耶路撒冷抽籤；那時你竟袖手旁觀，甚至好像他們中間的一分子！你兄弟遭遇禍患的日子，你不該看著不理；猶大人被滅的日子，你不該幸災樂禍；他們遭難的日子，你不該張口狂傲；我子民遭災的日子，你不該進入他們的城門；他們遭災的日子，你不該看著他們受苦；他們遭災的日子，你不該搶奪他們的財物。你不該站在岔路口，剪除他們中間逃脫的人；他們遭難的日子，你不該把他們生還的人交出來。

你怎樣因以色列家的產業荒涼而歡樂，我也必照樣待你。西珥山啊！你和以東全地都必荒涼。他們就知道我是耶和華。’”

以色列人起行，在摩押平原安營，就是在約旦河東邊，耶利哥的對面。

主耶和華這樣說：“因為摩押和西珥說：‘看哪！猶大家與列國毫無分別’，

以色列人住在什亭，人民與摩押的女子行起淫亂來。

可是，你們看到亞捫王拿轄來攻擊你們，就對我說：‘不行，我們要有一個王來統治我們。’其實，耶和華你們的神是你們的王。

“人子啊！你要面對亞捫人，說預言攻擊他們。

你要在這些鬚髮中取幾根，用你的衣角把它們包起來。
