For this is what the Lord says:“ The whole land shall be a desolation, Yet I will not execute a complete destruction.

This is what the Lord says:“ The whole land will be ruined, though I will not destroy it completely.

The Lord says,“ The whole land will be destroyed. But I will not destroy it completely.

For thus says the Lord,“ The whole land shall be a desolation; yet I will not make a full end.

This is what the Lord says:“ The whole land will be ruined, but I will not destroy it completely.

For this is what the LORD says:“ The whole land will be a desolation, but I will not finish it off.

For thus says the Lord:“ The whole land shall be desolate; Yet I will not make a full end.

For thus saith Jehovah, The whole land shall be a desolation; yet will I not make a full end.

For this is what the Lord says: The whole land will be a desolation, but I will not finish it off.

For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.

All this will happen because the LORD said,“ The whole land will be desolate; however, I will not completely destroy it.

For Yahweh says,“ The whole land will be a desolation; yet I will not make a full end.

Jacob My servant, do not fear,” declares the Lord,“ For I am with you. For I will make a complete destruction of all the nations Where I have driven you, Yet I will not make a complete destruction of you; But I will correct you properly And by no means leave you unpunished.”

“ Go up through her vine rows and destroy, But do not execute a complete destruction; Strip away her branches, For they are not the Lord’s.

“ Yet even in those days,” declares the Lord,“ I will not make a complete destruction of you.

For I am with you,’ declares the Lord,‘ to save you; For I will completely destroy all the nations where I have scattered you, Only I will not destroy you completely. But I will discipline you fairly And will by no means leave you unpunished.’

I say then, God has not rejected His people, has He? Far from it! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel?“ Lord, they have killed Your prophets, they have torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they are seeking my life.”But what is the divine response to him?“ I have kept for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”In the same way then, there has also come to be at the present time a remnant according to God’s gracious choice.But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, since otherwise grace is no longer grace.What then? What Israel is seeking, it has not obtained, but those who were chosen obtained it, and the rest were hardened;

Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, nor will I so loathe them as to destroy them, breaking My covenant with them; for I am the Lord their God.

Now it came about, as I prophesied, that Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I fell on my face and cried out with a loud voice, and said,“ Oh, Lord God! Will You bring the remnant of Israel to a complete destruction?”

Isaiah cries out concerning Israel,“ Though the number of the sons of Israel may be like the sand of the sea, only the remnant will be saved;for the Lord will execute His word on the earth, thoroughly and quickly.”And just as Isaiah foretold:“ If the Lord of armies had not left us descendants, We would have become like Sodom, and would have been like Gomorrah.”

To make their land a desolation, An object of perpetual hissing; Everyone who passes by it will be astonished And shake his head.

And I will make the land a desolation and a waste, and the pride of her power will be brought to an end; and the mountains of Israel will be deserted so that no one will pass through.

The earth will be completely laid waste and completely plundered, for the Lord has spoken this word.The earth dries up and crumbles away, the mainland dries out and crumbles away, the exalted of the people of the earth dwindle.The earth is also defiled by its inhabitants, for they violated laws, altered statutes, and broke the everlasting covenant.Therefore, a curse devours the earth, and those who live on it suffer for their guilt. Therefore, the inhabitants of the earth decrease in number, and few people are left.The new wine mourns, The vine decays, All the joyful hearted sigh.The joy of tambourines ceases, The noise of revelers stops, The joy of the harp ceases.They do not drink wine with song; Intoxicating drink is bitter to those who drink it.The city of chaos is broken down; Every house is shut up so that no one may enter.There is an outcry in the streets concerning the wine; All joy turns to gloom. The joy of the earth is banished.Desolation is left in the city And the gate is battered to ruins.For so it will be in the midst of the earth among the peoples, As the shaking of an olive tree, As the gleanings when the grape harvest is over.

Then I said,“ Lord, how long?” And He answered,“ Until cities are devastated and without inhabitant, Houses are without people And the land is utterly desolate,The Lord has completely removed people, And there are many forsaken places in the midst of the land.

Behold, the Lord lays the earth waste, devastates it, twists its surface, and scatters its inhabitants.

So through all their dwelling places I will stretch out My hand against them and make the land more desolate and waste than the wilderness toward Diblah; so they will know that I am the Lord.” ’ ”

A lion has gone up from his thicket, And a destroyer of nations has set out; He has gone out from his place To make your land a waste. Your cities will be ruins, Without an inhabitant.

Then I will eliminate from the cities of Judah and from the streets of Jerusalem the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the groom and the voice of the bride; for the land will become a site of ruins.

Behold, the eyes of the Lord God are on the sinful kingdom, And I will eliminate it from the face of the earth; Nevertheless, I will not totally eliminate the house of Jacob,” Declares the Lord.“ For behold, I am commanding, And I will shake the house of Israel among all nations As grain is shaken in a sieve, But not a pebble will fall to the ground.

It has been made a desolation; Desolate, it mourns before Me; The whole land has been made desolate, Because no one takes it to heart.On all the bare heights in the wilderness Destroyers have come, For the sword of the Lord is devouring From one end of the land even to the other; There is no peace for anyone.

to fulfill the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed its Sabbaths. All the days of its desolation it kept the Sabbath until seventy years were complete.
