先知说：“我观看地，不料，地是空虚混沌；我观看天，天也无光。

我俯瞰大地，一片空虚混沌；我仰望天空，毫无亮光。

I looked at the earth, and it was formless and empty; and at the heavens, and their light was gone.

I looked at the earth. It didn’t have any shape. And it was empty. I looked at the sky. Its light was gone.

I looked on the earth, and behold, it was without form and void; and to the heavens, and they had no light.

The sun and moon will be darkened, and the stars no longer shine.The Lord will roar from Zion and thunder from Jerusalem; the earth and the heavens will tremble. But the Lord will be a refuge for his people, a stronghold for the people of Israel. (niv)

“ There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. (niv)

Before them the earth shakes, the heavens tremble, the sun and moon are darkened, and the stars no longer shine. (niv)

When I snuff you out, I will cover the heavens and darken their stars; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon will not give its light.All the shining lights in the heavens I will darken over you; I will bring darkness over your land, declares the Sovereign Lord. (niv)

I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke.The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. (niv)

The earth is broken up, the earth is split asunder, the earth is violently shaken.The earth reels like a drunkard, it sways like a hut in the wind; so heavy upon it is the guilt of its rebellion that it falls— never to rise again.In that day the Lord will punish the powers in the heavens above and the kings on the earth below.They will be herded together like prisoners bound in a dungeon; they will be shut up in prison and be punished after many days.The moon will be dismayed, the sun ashamed; for the Lord Almighty will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before its elders— with great glory. I will weep and wail for the mountains and take up a lament concerning the wilderness grasslands. They are desolate and untraveled, and the lowing of cattle is not heard. The birds have all fled and the animals are gone. (niv)
