Oh, my anguish, my anguish! I writhe in pain. Oh, the agony of my heart! My heart pounds within me, I cannot keep silent. For I have heard the sound of the trumpet; I have heard the battle cry.

I’m suffering! I’m really suffering! I’m hurting badly. My heart is suffering so much! It’s pounding inside me. I can’t keep silent. I’ve heard the sound of trumpets. I’ve heard the battle cry.

My anguish, my anguish! I writhe in pain! Oh the walls of my heart! My heart is beating wildly; I cannot keep silent, for I hear the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.

I said,“ Oh, the feeling in the pit of my stomach! I writhe in anguish. Oh, the pain in my heart! My heart pounds within me. I cannot keep silent. For I hear the sound of the trumpet; the sound of the battle cry pierces my soul!

My anguish, my anguish! I am pained at my very heart! My heart trembles within me. I can’t hold my peace, because you have heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.

Therefore said I, Look away from me; I will weep bitterly, labour not to comfort me, because of the spoiling of the daughter of my people.

Wherefore my bowels shall sound like an harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kirharesh.

For the mountains will I take up a weeping and wailing, and for the habitations of the wilderness a lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none can pass through[ them]; neither can[ men] hear the voice of the cattle; both the fowl of the heavens and the beast are fled; they are gone.

Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!

When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice: rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he cometh up unto the people, he will invade them with his troops.

My heart shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives[ shall flee] unto Zoar, an heifer of three years old: for by the mounting up of Luhith with weeping shall they go it up; for in the way of Horonaim they shall raise up a cry of destruction.

Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman that travaileth: I was bowed down at the hearing[ of it]; I was dismayed at the seeing[ of it].

Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission,Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven.Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me,[ bless] his holy name.

For these[ things] I weep; mine eye, mine eye runneth down with water, because the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me: my children are desolate, because the enemy prevailed.

Rivers of waters run down mine eyes, because they keep not thy law.

Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of the LORD, and because of the words of his holiness.

That day[ is] a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.

[ O my soul], thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou[ art] my Lord: my goodness[ extendeth] not to thee;

And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.

Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done[ it]?

That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:

My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

Therefore thou shalt say this word unto them; Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease: for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous blow.If I go forth into the field, then behold the slain with the sword! and if I enter into the city, then behold them that are sick with famine! yea, both the prophet and the priest go about into a land that they know not.

Therefore will I howl for Moab, and I will cry out for all Moab;[ mine heart] shall mourn for the men of Kirheres.O vine of Sibmah, I will weep for thee with the weeping of Jazer: thy plants are gone over the sea, they reach[ even] to the sea of Jazer: the spoiler is fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage.

Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But[ his word] was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not[ stay].

Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow ye the trumpet in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities.

Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul.

Mine eyes do fail with tears, my bowels are troubled, my liver is poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the children and the sucklings swoon in the streets of the city.

But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for[ your] pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD’S flock is carried away captive.

Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.

Horror hath taken hold upon me because of the wicked that forsake thy law.

The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength.

And I Daniel fainted, and was sick[ certain] days; afterward I rose up, and did the king’s business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood[ it].

Hitherto[ is] the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and[ why] art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him[ for] the help of his countenance.O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.

O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall.

I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of[ my] body, and the visions of my head troubled me.

How long shall I see the standard,[ and] hear the sound of the trumpet?

And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things[ which belong] unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
