西底家王對耶利米說：「我怕那些投降迦勒底人的猶大人，恐怕迦勒底人把我交在他們手中，他們就戲弄我。」

西底家王对耶利米说：“我怕那些投降迦勒底人的犹大人，恐怕迦勒底人把我交在他们手中，他们就戏弄我。”

西底迦王说：“我害怕那些已经向迦勒底人投降的犹大人，恐怕迦勒底人会把我交给他们，任由他们羞辱。”

西底家王对耶利米说：“我害怕那些已向迦勒底人投降的犹大人，恐怕迦勒底人把我交在他们手中，他们就会凌辱我。”

西底家王對耶利米說：「我怕那些投降迦勒底人的猶大人，恐怕迦勒底人將我交在他們手中，他們戲弄我。」

西底家王對耶利米說：「我怕那些投降迦勒底人的猶大人，恐怕迦勒底人把我交在他們手中，他們就戲弄我。」

西底迦王說：「我害怕那些已經向迦勒底人投降的猶大人，恐怕迦勒底人會把我交給他們，任由他們羞辱。」

西底家王對耶利米說：“我害怕那些已向迦勒底人投降的猶大人，恐怕迦勒底人把我交在他們手中，他們就會凌辱我。”

西底家王對耶利米說：『我，我怕那些投降迦勒底人的猶大人，恐怕迦勒底人會將我交在他們手中，他們會作弄我。』

西底家王謂耶利米曰、我恐迦勒底人、付我於投降之猶大人手、彼則侮我、

西底家王告耶利米曰、猶大人已先歸誠於迦勒底人、我甚恐、若彼委我於猶大人、使凌辱予、則奈何。

西底家王謂耶利米曰、有猶大人已降迦勒底人、我恐迦勒底人付我於彼之手、使彼凌辱我、

King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah,“ I am afraid of the Jews who have gone over to the Babylonians, for the Babylonians may hand me over to them and they will mistreat me.”

King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah,“ I’m afraid of some of the Jews. They are the ones who have gone over to the side of the Babylonians. The Babylonians might hand me over to them. And those Jews will treat me badly.”

King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah,“ I am afraid of the Judeans who have deserted to the Chaldeans, lest I be handed over to them and they deal cruelly with me.”

“ But I am afraid to surrender,” the king said,“ for the Babylonians may hand me over to the Judeans who have defected to them. And who knows what they will do to me!”

But King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah,“ I am worried about the Judeans who have defected to the Chaldeans. They may hand me over to the Judeans to abuse me.”

Then King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah,“ I am in fear of the Jews who have deserted to the Chaldeans, for they may hand me over to them, and they will abuse me.”

And Zedekiah the king said to Jeremiah,“ I am afraid of the Jews who have defected to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they abuse me.”

And Zedekiah the king said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that are fallen away to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.

But King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah,“ I am worried about the Judeans who have deserted to the Chaldeans. They may hand me over to the Judeans to abuse me.”

And Zedekiah the king said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that are fallen to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.

Then King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah,“ I am afraid of the Judeans who have deserted to the Babylonians. The Babylonians might hand me over to them and they will torture me.”

Zedekiah the king said to Jeremiah,“ I am afraid of the Jews who have defected to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.”

雖然如此，官長中卻有好些信他的，只因法利賽人的緣故不敢承認，恐怕被趕出會堂。

從此，彼拉多想要釋放耶穌，無奈猶太人喊着說：「你若釋放這個人，你就不是凱撒的忠臣。凡自立為王的就是背叛凱撒。」彼拉多聽見這些話，就帶耶穌出來，到了一個地方，叫「鋪華石處」，希伯來話叫厄巴大，就在那裏坐堂。

看哪，猶大王宮裏所留下來的婦女必被帶到巴比倫王的官長那裏。這些婦女要說：你知己的朋友引誘你，他們勝過你；你的腳陷入淤泥，他們卻離棄你。

我，惟有我是安慰你們的。你是誰，竟怕那必死的人，怕那生命如草的世人，卻忘記鋪張諸天、立定地基、造你的耶和華？你因欺壓者圖謀毀滅所發的暴怒，終日害怕，其實那欺壓者的暴怒在哪裏呢？

你怕誰，因誰恐懼，竟說謊，不記得我，不將這事放在心上。是否因我許久閉口不言，你就不怕我了呢？

懼怕人的，陷入圈套；惟有倚靠耶和華的，必得安穩。

「那與造他的主爭論的人有禍了！他不過是地上瓦塊中的一片。泥土豈可對塑造它的說：『你做的是甚麼？你所做的物怎麼沒有把手呢？』有人對父親說，『你生的是甚麼』，對母親說，『你生產的是甚麼』；這人有禍了！」

掃羅吩咐拿他兵器的人說：「你拔出刀來，把我刺死，免得那些未受割禮的人來刺我，凌辱我。」但拿兵器的人不肯，因為他非常懼怕。於是掃羅拿起刀來，伏在刀上。

他就急忙叫拿他兵器的青年來，對他說：「拔出你的刀來，殺了我吧！免得有人提到我說：『他被一個婦人殺了。』」於是那青年把他刺透，他就死了。

我若因大大懼怕眾人，又因宗族的藐視而恐懼，以致我緘默不言，閉門不出；

掃羅對撒母耳說：「我有罪了！我違背了耶和華的指示和你的命令；因為我懼怕百姓，聽從了他們的話。

那時，尼布撒拉旦護衛長把城裏所剩下的百姓和投降他的降民，以及其餘的百姓都擄到巴比倫去了。

他們心裏高興的時候，就說：「叫參孫來，逗我們歡樂。」於是他們把參孫從監獄裏提出來，在他們面前戲耍。他們叫他站在兩根柱子中間。

西底家王說：「看哪，他在你們手中，王不能反對你們所做的事。」
