But neither he nor his servants nor the people of the land listened to the words of the Lord that he spoke through Jeremiah the prophet.

西底家行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，正如约雅敬一切所行的。因此，耶和华向耶路撒冷和犹大发怒，以致把他们从自己面前赶出去。西底家背叛巴比伦王。

君王若听谎言，他一切臣仆都是奸恶。

他行耶和华—他上帝眼中看为恶的事，没有谦卑听从耶利米先知所传达耶和华的话。尼布甲尼撒王曾叫他指着上帝起誓，他却背叛，硬着颈项，内心顽固，不归向耶和华—以色列的上帝。众祭司长和百姓也多多犯罪，效法列国一切可憎的事，玷污耶和华在耶路撒冷分别为圣的殿。耶和华—他们列祖的上帝因为爱惜自己的百姓和居所，一再差遣使者去警戒他们。他们却嘲笑上帝的使者，藐视他的话，讥诮他的先知，以致耶和华向他的百姓大发烈怒，甚至无法可救。

就藉拿单先知赐他一个名字，叫耶底底亚；这是为了耶和华的缘故。

以色列众人为他安葬，为他哀哭，正如耶和华藉他仆人亚希雅先知所说的话。

摩西说：“主啊，求求你，你要藉着谁的手，就差派谁去吧！”

于是，亚伦和他的儿子就做了耶和华藉着摩西所吩咐的一切事。

我已吩咐众先知，又增加异象，藉先知设比喻。

耶和华的话临到哈拿尼的儿子耶户先知，责备巴沙和他的家，因他行耶和华眼中看为恶的一切事，以他手所做的惹耶和华发怒，像耶罗波安的家一样，又因他杀了耶罗波安全家。

大卫说：“哈嫩的父亲拿辖怎样向我施恩，我也要怎样向哈嫩施恩。”于是大卫派臣仆为他的父亲安慰他。当大卫的臣仆到了亚扪人的境内，

藉愚昧人的手寄信的，就像砍断双脚，喝下残暴。

你这亵渎行恶的以色列王啊，你的日子，最后惩罚的时刻已来临。

所以，那弃绝这教导的不是弃绝人，而是弃绝那把自己的圣灵赐给你们的上帝。
