But neither he nor his servants nor the people of the land listened to the words of the Lord that he spoke through Jeremiah the prophet.

西底迦像約雅敬一樣做耶和華視為惡的事。因此，耶和華向耶路撒冷和猶大的人發怒，把他們從祂面前趕走。後來，西底迦背叛了巴比倫王。

君王若聽讒言，臣僕必成奸徒。

他做他的上帝耶和華視為惡的事，耶利米先知向他傳講耶和華的話，他仍不肯在耶利米面前謙卑下來。尼布甲尼撒曾讓他奉上帝的名起誓，他卻背叛了尼布甲尼撒。他頑固不化，不肯歸向以色列的上帝耶和華。所有祭司長和民眾也都仿效外族人的一切可憎行徑，犯了大罪，玷污了耶和華在耶路撒冷使之聖潔的殿。他們祖先的上帝耶和華因為憐愛祂的子民和祂的居所，就不斷派使者來勸告他們。他們卻嘲弄耶和華上帝的使者，藐視祂的話，嘲笑祂的先知，以致祂的憤怒臨到祂的子民身上，無可挽救。

祂差遣拿單先知去賜給他一個名字——耶底底亞，意思是耶和華喜愛他。

以色列人埋葬了他，為他哀悼，正應驗了耶和華藉祂僕人亞希雅先知說的話。

但是摩西說：「主啊，請派其他人去吧。」

於是，亞倫父子們遵行了耶和華藉摩西吩咐的一切。

我曾對先知講話，賜給他們許多異象，藉他們用比喻警告你們。」

耶和華藉哈拿尼的兒子耶戶先知譴責巴沙和他全家，是因為他像耶羅波安家一樣做耶和華視為惡的事，惹耶和華發怒，也因為他殺了耶羅波安全家。

大衛說：「我要恩待拿轄的兒子哈嫩，因為他父親曾經恩待我。」他便派臣僕去安慰喪父的哈嫩。大衛的臣僕來到亞捫境內，

靠愚人傳信，如同砍斷自己的腳，自討苦吃。

你這邪惡敗壞的以色列首領啊！你的結局到了，審判你的日子來了。』

所以，人若拒絕遵行這命令，他不是拒絕人，而是拒絕賜聖靈給你們的上帝。
