论到犹大王约雅敬，你要这样写，‘耶和华说，你把卷轴烧掉，还说为什么上面写着巴比伦王必来毁灭这地方和其中的人畜。

论到犹大王约雅敬你要说：‘耶和华这样说：你烧了那书卷，说：你为什么在上面写着说：巴比伦王一定来，毁灭这地，使地上的人畜都灭绝呢？

論到猶大王約雅敬你要說：‘耶和華這樣說：你燒了那書卷，說：你為甚麼在上面寫著說：巴比倫王一定來，毀滅這地，使地上的人畜都滅絕呢？

論到猶大王約雅敬你要說：「永恆主這麼說：你，你燒了這書卷，說：『你為甚麼在那上頭寫着說：巴比倫王一定會來，毁滅這地，使此地的人和牲口都從這上頭滅絕掉呢？』

且論猶大王約雅敬曰、耶和華云、爾焚其卷曰、汝奚錄於上云、巴比倫王必至、毀滅斯土、使其人畜俱泯、

奏猶大王約雅金曰、耶和華云、卷中有言巴比倫王必至、翦滅斯國、人民野獸、不得安居、爾不悅斯言、火焚其卷、

亦當告猶大王約雅敬曰、主如是云、爾問曰、何錄於卷云、巴比倫王必至毀滅斯國、翦絕人民牲畜、爾竟焚燬斯卷、

Also tell Jehoiakim king of Judah,‘ This is what the Lord says: You burned that scroll and said,“ Why did you write on it that the king of Babylon would certainly come and destroy this land and wipe from it both man and beast?”

Also tell King Jehoiakim,‘ The Lord says,“ You burned that scroll. You said to Baruch,‘ Why did you write that the king of Babylon would certainly come? Why did you write that he would destroy this land? And why did you write that he would remove from it people and animals alike?’ ”

And concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah you shall say,‘ Thus says the Lord, You have burned this scroll, saying,“ Why have you written in it that the king of Babylon will certainly come and destroy this land, and will cut off from it man and beast?”

Then say to the king,‘ This is what the Lord says: You burned the scroll because it said the king of Babylon would destroy this land and empty it of people and animals.

You are to proclaim concerning King Jehoiakim of Judah,‘ This is what the LORD says: You have burned the scroll, asking,“ Why have you written on it that the king of Babylon will certainly come and destroy this land and cause it to be without people or animals?”

And concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah you shall say,‘ This is what the Lord says:“ You have burned this scroll, saying,‘ Why have you written on it that the king of Babylon will certainly come and destroy this land, and will make mankind and animals disappear from it?’ ”

And you shall say to Jehoiakim king of Judah,‘ Thus says the Lord:“ You have burned this scroll, saying,‘ Why have you written in it that the king of Babylon will certainly come and destroy this land, and cause man and beast to cease from here?’”

And concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah thou shalt say, Thus saith Jehovah: Thou hast burned this roll, saying, Why hast thou written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from thence man and beast?

And thou shalt say to Jehoiakim king of Judah, Thus saith the LORD; Thou hast burned this roll, saying, Why hast thou written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from thence man and beast?

Tell King Jehoiakim of Judah,‘ The LORD says,“ You burned the scroll. You asked Jeremiah,‘ How dare you write in this scroll that the king of Babylon will certainly come and destroy this land and wipe out all the people and animals on it?’”

Concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah you shall say,‘ Yahweh says:“ You have burned this scroll, saying,“ Why have you written therein, saying,‘ The king of Babylon will certainly come and destroy this land, and will cause to cease from there man and animal?’”’

Why do you prophesy in the Lord’s name that this house will be like Shiloh and this city will be desolate and deserted?” And all the people crowded around Jeremiah in the house of the Lord. (niv)

They say to the seers,“ See no more visions!” and to the prophets,“ Give us no more visions of what is right! Tell us pleasant things, prophesy illusions. (niv)

When such a person hears the words of this oath and they invoke a blessing on themselves, thinking,“ I will be safe, even though I persist in going my own way,” they will bring disaster on the watered land as well as the dry. (niv)

Now Zedekiah king of Judah had imprisoned him there, saying,“ Why do you prophesy as you do? You say,‘ This is what the Lord says: I am about to give this city into the hands of the king of Babylon, and he will capture it. (niv)

those who with a word make someone out to be guilty, who ensnare the defender in court and with false testimony deprive the innocent of justice. (niv)

Distress and anguish fill him with terror; troubles overwhelm him, like a king poised to attack, (niv)

“ Woe to those who quarrel with their Maker, those who are nothing but potsherds among the potsherds on the ground. Does the clay say to the potter,‘ What are you making?’ Does your work say,‘ The potter has no hands’? (niv)

“ I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah and his officials into the hands of their enemies who want to kill them, to the army of the king of Babylon, which has withdrawn from you.I am going to give the order, declares the Lord, and I will bring them back to this city. They will fight against it, take it and burn it down. And I will lay waste the towns of Judah so no one can live there.” (niv)

Are we trying to arouse the Lord’s jealousy? Are we stronger than he? (niv)

I have determined to do this city harm and not good, declares the Lord. It will be given into the hands of the king of Babylon, and he will destroy it with fire.’ (niv)

‘ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I am about to turn against you the weapons of war that are in your hands, which you are using to fight the king of Babylon and the Babylonians who are outside the wall besieging you. And I will gather them inside this city.I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and a mighty arm in furious anger and in great wrath.I will strike down those who live in this city— both man and beast— and they will die of a terrible plague.After that, declares the Lord, I will give Zedekiah king of Judah, his officials and the people in this city who survive the plague, sword and famine, into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and to their enemies who want to kill them. He will put them to the sword; he will show them no mercy or pity or compassion.’ (niv)

“ We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said.“ Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.” (niv)

From early times the prophets who preceded you and me have prophesied war, disaster and plague against many countries and great kingdoms. (niv)

“ Would you discredit my justice? Would you condemn me to justify yourself? (niv)

Therefore this is what the Lord says: I am about to give this city into the hands of the Babylonians and to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, who will capture it.The Babylonians who are attacking this city will come in and set it on fire; they will burn it down, along with the houses where the people aroused my anger by burning incense on the roofs to Baal and by pouring out drink offerings to other gods.“ The people of Israel and Judah have done nothing but evil in my sight from their youth; indeed, the people of Israel have done nothing but arouse my anger with what their hands have made, declares the Lord. (niv)

But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.” (niv)
