“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel says:‘ Go and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah and say to him,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ Behold, I am handing this city over to the king of Babylon, and he will burn it with fire.

主以色列之天主如是云、爾往見猶大王西底家、告之曰、主如是云、我將付斯邑於巴比倫王手、必以火焚燬、

“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Go to Zedekiah king of Judah and tell him,‘ This is what the Lord says: I am about to give this city into the hands of the king of Babylon, and he will burn it down.

“ I am the Lord, the God of Israel. Go to Zedekiah, the king of Judah. Tell him,‘ The Lord says,“ I am about to hand this city over to the king of Babylon. He will burn it down.

“ Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Go and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah and say to him,‘ Thus says the Lord: Behold, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.

“ Go to King Zedekiah of Judah, and tell him,‘ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I am about to hand this city over to the king of Babylon, and he will burn it down.

“ This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Go, speak to King Zedekiah of Judah, and tell him,‘ This is what the LORD says: I am about to hand this city over to the king of Babylon, and he will burn it.

“ Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel:‘ Go and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah and tell him,“ Thus says the Lord:‘ Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.

Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Go, and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah, and tell him, Thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire:

“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Go, speak to Zedekiah, king of Judah, and tell him: This is what the Lord says: I am about to hand this city over to the king of Babylon, and he will burn it down.

Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Go and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah, and tell him, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire:

The LORD God of Israel told Jeremiah to go and give King Zedekiah of Judah a message. He told Jeremiah to tell him,“ The LORD says,‘ I am going to hand this city over to the king of Babylon and he will burn it down.

“ Yahweh, the God of Israel, says,‘ Go, and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah, and tell him, Yahweh says,“ Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon and he will burn it with fire.

For I have set My face against this city for harm and not for good,” declares the Lord.“ It will be handed over to the king of Babylon and he will burn it with fire.” ’

Behold, I am going to give a command,’ declares the Lord,‘ and I will bring them back to this city, and they will fight against it and take it and burn it with fire; and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation without inhabitant.’ ”

because Zedekiah king of Judah had imprisoned him, saying,“ Why do you prophesy, saying,‘ This is what the Lord says:“ Behold, I am going to hand this city over to the king of Babylon, and he will take it;

This is what the Lord says:“ Go down to the house of the king of Judah and there speak this word,and say,‘ Hear the word of the Lord, O king of Judah, who sits on David’s throne, you and your servants and your people who enter these gates.

Then the Chaldeans will return and fight against this city, and they will capture it and burn it with fire.” ’This is what the Lord says:‘ Do not deceive yourselves, saying,“ The Chaldeans will certainly go away from us,” for they will not go.For even if you had defeated the entire army of Chaldeans who were fighting against you, and there were only wounded men left among them, each man in his tent, they would rise up and burn this city with fire.’ ”

Zedekiah was twenty one years old when he became king, and he reigned for eleven years in Jerusalem.He did evil in the sight of the Lord his God; he did not humble himself before Jeremiah the prophet who spoke for the Lord.

The Chaldeans also burned the king’s palace and the houses of the people with fire, and they tore down the walls of Jerusalem.

Therefore this is what the Lord says:“ Behold, I am going to hand this city over to the Chaldeans and to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he will take it.And the Chaldeans who are fighting against this city will enter and set this city on fire and burn it, with the houses where people have offered incense to Baal on their roofs and poured out drink offerings to other gods, to provoke Me to anger.

Now Zedekiah the son of Josiah whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had made king in the land of Judah, reigned as king in place of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim.But neither he nor his servants nor the people of the land listened to the words of the Lord which He spoke through Jeremiah the prophet.Yet King Zedekiah sent Jehucal the son of Shelemiah, and the priest Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, to Jeremiah the prophet, saying,“ Please pray to the Lord our God in our behalf.”Now Jeremiah was still coming and going among the people, for they had not yet put him in prison.

‘ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel says:“ Behold, I am going to turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, with which you are making war against the king of Babylon and the Chaldeans who are besieging you outside the wall; and I will gather them into the middle of this city.

They are also going to bring out all your wives and your sons to the Chaldeans, and you yourself will not escape from their hand, but will be seized by the hand of the king of Babylon, and this city will be burned with fire.’ ”
