The Babylonians who are attacking this city will come in and set it on fire; they will burn it down, along with the houses where the people aroused my anger by burning incense on the roofs to Baal and by pouring out drink offerings to other gods.

The armies of Babylon are now attacking this city. They will come in and set it on fire. They will burn it down. They will burn down the houses where the people made me very angry. They burned incense on their roofs to the god named Baal. And they poured out drink offerings to other gods.

The Chaldeans who are fighting against this city shall come and set this city on fire and burn it, with the houses on whose roofs offerings have been made to Baal and drink offerings have been poured out to other gods, to provoke me to anger.

The Babylonians outside the walls will come in and set fire to the city. They will burn down all these houses where the people provoked my anger by burning incense to Baal on the rooftops and by pouring out liquid offerings to other gods.

我們定要照我們口中所說的一切話去做，向天后燒香，獻澆酒祭，按着我們與我們祖先、君王、官長在猶大城鎮和耶路撒冷街市上素常所做的一樣；因為那時我們得以吃飽、享福樂，並未遇見災禍。自從我們停止向天后燒香，獻澆酒祭，我們倒缺乏這一切，又因刀劍饑荒滅絕。」婦女們說：「我們向天后燒香，獻澆酒祭，做天后像的餅供奉它，向它獻澆酒祭，難道我們的丈夫沒有參與嗎？」

萬軍之耶和華－以色列的神如此說：你們和你們的妻子口中說過、手裏做到，說：『我們定要向天后還願，向它燒香，獻澆酒祭。』現在你們儘管堅定所許的願，去還願吧！

孩子撿柴，父親燒火，婦女揉麵做餅，獻給天后，又向別神獻澆酒祭，惹我發怒。

迦勒底人用火焚燒王宮和百姓的房屋，又拆毀耶路撒冷的城牆。

「耶和華－以色列的神如此說：你們要對派你們來求問我的猶大王如此說：『看哪，那出來幫助你們的法老軍隊必回埃及本國去。迦勒底人必再來攻打這城，並要攻下，用火焚燒。耶和華如此說：你們不要自欺說「迦勒底人必定離開我們」，因為他們必不離開。你們即使擊敗與你們爭戰的迦勒底全軍，他們當中剩下受傷的人也必各自從帳棚裏起來，用火焚燒這城。』」

王就大怒，發兵除滅那些兇手，燒燬他們的城。

耶和華發盡他的憤怒，傾倒他的烈怒，用火焚燒錫安，燒燬錫安的根基。

他焚燒了耶和華的殿、王宮和耶路撒冷一切的房屋；用火焚燒所有大戶人家的房屋。

你的聖城已變為曠野；錫安變為曠野，耶路撒冷成為廢墟。我們那神聖華美的殿，就是我們祖先讚美你的地方，已被火焚燒；我們所羨慕的美地盡都荒蕪。

「無論哪一邦、哪一國，不肯服事巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒，不把頸項放在他的軛下，我必用刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫懲罰那邦，直到我藉巴比倫王的手毀滅他們。這是耶和華說的。至於你們，不可聽從你們的先知和占卜的、做夢的、觀星象的，以及行邪術的；他們對你們說：『你們必不致服事巴比倫王。』他們向你們傳的是假預言，要叫你們遠離本地，以致我將你們趕出去，使你們滅亡。

你們若不聽從我，不以安息日為聖日，仍在安息日挑擔子進入耶路撒冷的各城門，我必在城門中點火；這火必燒燬耶路撒冷的宮殿，不會熄滅。」
