This is what the Lord says: They found favor in the wilderness— the people who survived the sword. When Israel went to find rest,

耶和华如此说：“脱离刀剑的就是以色列人。我使他享安息的时候，他曾在旷野蒙恩。

耶和华如此说：“从刀剑生还的百姓在旷野蒙恩；以色列寻找安歇之处。”

“逃脱刀兵之灾的以色列人必在旷野蒙恩，找到安息之所。这是耶和华说的。”

耶和华这样说：“在刀剑下幸存的人民，在旷野蒙受了恩宠；以色列来到她安息之处。”

主如是云、昔以色列民得脫鋒刃、適於曠野、蒙我恩寵、我與偕行、使之安息、

This is what the Lord says:“ The people who survive the sword will find favor in the wilderness; I will come to give rest to Israel.”

The Lord says,“ Some of my people will live through everything their enemies do to them. They will find help in the desert. I will come to give peace and rest to Israel.”

Thus says the Lord:“ The people who survived the sword found grace in the wilderness; when Israel sought for rest,

This is what the Lord says:“ Those who survive the coming destruction will find blessings even in the barren land, for I will give rest to the people of Israel.”

This is what the LORD says: The people who survived the sword found favor in the wilderness. When Israel went to find rest,

This is what the Lord says:“ The people who survived the sword Found grace in the wilderness— Israel, when it went to find its rest.”

Thus says the Lord:“ The people who survived the sword Found grace in the wilderness— Israel, when I went to give him rest.”

Thus saith Jehovah, The people that were left of the sword found favor in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.

Thus saith the LORD, The people[ which were] left of the sword found grace in the wilderness;[ even] Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.

The LORD says,“ The people of Israel who survived death at the hands of the enemy will find favor in the wilderness as they journey to find rest for themselves.

Yahweh says,“ The people who survive the sword found favor in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.”

who went before you on the journey to seek out a place for you to camp. He went in the fire by night and in the cloud by day to guide you on the road you were to travel.

So I swore in My anger,“ They will not enter My rest.”

“ Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

I will make known the Lord’s faithful love and the Lord’s praiseworthy acts, because of all the Lord has done for us— even the many good things He has done for the house of Israel and has done for them based on His compassion and the abundance of His faithful love.He said,“ They are indeed My people, children who will not be disloyal,” and He became their Savior.In all their suffering, He suffered, and the Angel of His Presence saved them. He redeemed them because of His love and compassion; He lifted them up and carried them all the days of the past.But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit. So He became their enemy and fought against them.Then He remembered the days of the past, the days of Moses and his people. Where is He who brought them out of the sea with the shepherds of His flock? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit among the flock?He sent His glorious arm to be at Moses’ right hand, divided the waters before them to obtain eternal fame for Himself,and led them through the depths like a horse in the wilderness, so that they did not stumble.Like cattle that go down into the valley, the Spirit of the Lord gave them rest. You led Your people this way to make a glorious name for Yourself.

They set out from the mountain of the Lord on a three-day journey with the ark of the Lord’s covenant traveling ahead of them for those three days to seek a resting place for them.

For the Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this immense wilderness. The Lord your God has been with you this past 40 years, and you have lacked nothing.’

Then He replied,“ My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

He led His people in the wilderness. His love is eternal.He struck down great kings His love is eternal.and slaughtered famous kings— His love is eternal.Sihon king of the Amorites His love is eternal.and Og king of Bashan— His love is eternal.and gave their land as an inheritance, His love is eternal.an inheritance to Israel His servant. His love is eternal.He remembered us in our humiliation His love is eternal.and rescued us from our foes. His love is eternal.

Then He brought Israel out with silver and gold, and no one among His tribes stumbled.Egypt was glad when they left, for the dread of Israel had fallen on them.He spread a cloud as a covering and gave a fire to light up the night.They asked, and He brought quail and satisfied them with bread from heaven.He opened a rock, and water gushed out; it flowed like a stream in the desert.For He remembered His holy promise to Abraham His servant.He brought His people out with rejoicing, His chosen ones with shouts of joy.

For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.Therefore, a Sabbath rest remains for God’s people.

The enemy said:“ I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil. My desire will be gratified at their expense. I will draw my sword; my hand will destroy them.”But You blew with Your breath, and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.

The Lord your God who goes before you will fight for you, just as you saw Him do for you in Egypt.

He led them with a cloud by day and with a fiery light throughout the night.He split rocks in the wilderness and gave them drink as abundant as the depths.He brought streams out of the stone and made water flow down like rivers.

After a long time, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned because of their difficult labor, and they cried out; and their cry for help ascended to God because of the difficult labor.

Indeed, you have not yet come into the resting place and the inheritance the Lord your God is giving you.

But I acted because of My name, so that it would not be profaned in the eyes of the nations in whose sight I had brought them out.However, I swore to them in the wilderness that I would not bring them into the land I had given them— the most beautiful of all lands, flowing with milk and honey—because they rejected My ordinances, profaned My Sabbaths, and did not follow My statutes. For their hearts went after their idols.But I spared them from destruction and did not bring them to an end in the wilderness.

He fed you in the wilderness with manna that your fathers had not known, in order to humble and test you, so that in the end He might cause you to prosper.

The Lord responded,“ I have pardoned them as you requested.

Remember that the Lord your God led you on the entire journey these 40 years in the wilderness, so that He might humble you and test you to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep His commands.He humbled you by letting you go hungry; then He gave you manna to eat, which you and your fathers had not known, so that you might learn that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.

The Israelites traveled from Rameses to Succoth, about 600,000 soldiers on foot, besides their families.

“ Go and announce directly to Jerusalem that this is what the Lord says: I remember the loyalty of your youth, your love as a bride— how you followed Me in the wilderness, in a land not sown.

At Rephidim, Amalek came and fought against Israel.Moses said to Joshua,“ Select some men for us and go fight against Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the hilltop with God’s staff in my hand.”Joshua did as Moses had told him, and fought against Amalek, while Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.While Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, but whenever he put his hand down, Amalek prevailed.When Moses’ hands grew heavy, they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat down on it. Then Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side and one on the other so that his hands remained steady until the sun went down.So Joshua defeated Amalek and his army with the sword.

The Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued the Israelites, who were going out triumphantly.The Egyptians— all Pharaoh’s horses and chariots, his horsemen, and his army— chased after them and caught up with them as they camped by the sea beside Pi-hahiroth, in front of Baal-zephon.As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up and saw the Egyptians coming after them. Then the Israelites were terrified and cried out to the Lord for help.They said to Moses:“ Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you took us to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?Isn’t this what we told you in Egypt: Leave us alone so that we may serve the Egyptians? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.”

Pharaoh then commanded all his people:“ You must throw every son born to the Hebrews into the Nile, but let every daughter live.”

“ May the Lord take note of you and judge,” they said to them,“ because you have made us reek in front of Pharaoh and his officials— putting a sword in their hand to kill us!”

He gave a command to the clouds above and opened the doors of heaven.He rained manna for them to eat; He gave them grain from heaven.People ate the bread of angels. He sent them an abundant supply of food.He made the east wind blow in the skies and drove the south wind by His might.He rained meat on them like dust, and winged birds like the sand of the seas.He made them fall in His camp, all around His tent.They ate and were completely satisfied, for He gave them what they craved.

You led them with a pillar of cloud by day, and with a pillar of fire by night, to illuminate the way they should go.You came down on Mount Sinai, and spoke to them from heaven. You gave them impartial ordinances, reliable instructions, and good statutes and commands.You revealed Your holy Sabbath to them, and gave them commands, statutes, and instruction through Your servant Moses.You provided bread from heaven for their hunger; You brought them water from the rock for their thirst. You told them to go in and possess the land You had sworn to give them.

He led His people out like sheep and guided them like a flock in the wilderness.

“ When you help the Hebrew women give birth, observe them as they deliver. If the child is a son, kill him, but if it’s a daughter, she may live.”
