主如是云、惟聞戰慄之聲、各處驚惶、毫無平康、

For a voice declares from Dan And proclaims affliction from Mount Ephraim:“ Make mention to the nations, Yes, proclaim against Jerusalem, That watchers come from a far country And raise their voice against the cities of Judah.Like keepers of a field they are against her all around, Because she has been rebellious against Me,” says the Lord.“ Your ways and your doings Have procured these things for you. This is your wickedness, Because it is bitter, Because it reaches to your heart.”O my soul, my soul! I am pained in my very heart! My heart makes a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, Because you have heard, O my soul, The sound of the trumpet, The alarm of war.Destruction upon destruction is cried, For the whole land is plundered. Suddenly my tents are plundered, And my curtains in a moment.

“ And there shall be on that day,” says the Lord,“ The sound of a mournful cry from the Fish Gate, A wailing from the Second Quarter, And a loud crashing from the hills.Wail, you inhabitants of Maktesh! For all the merchant people are cut down; All those who handle money are cut off.

Listen! The voice, The cry of the daughter of my people From a far country:“ Is not the Lord in Zion? Is not her King in her?”“ Why have they provoked Me to anger With their carved images— With foreign idols?”

We all growl like bears, And moan sadly like doves; We look for justice, but there is none; For salvation, but it is far from us.

They will lay hold on bow and spear; They are cruel and have no mercy; Their voice roars like the sea; And they ride on horses, As men of war set in array against you, O daughter of Zion.”We have heard the report of it; Our hands grow feeble. Anguish has taken hold of us, Pain as of a woman in labor.Do not go out into the field, Nor walk by the way. Because of the sword of the enemy, Fear is on every side.

I will turn your feasts into mourning, And all your songs into lamentation; I will bring sackcloth on every waist, And baldness on every head; I will make it like mourning for an only son, And its end like a bitter day.
