It will be their possession forever, and I will be their God.”Then God said to Abraham,“ Your responsibility is to obey the terms of the covenant. You and all your descendants have this continual responsibility.

Let this be recorded for future generations, so that a people not yet born will praise the Lord.

This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says:“ The people of Israel and Judah have been wronged. Their captors hold them and refuse to let them go.But the one who redeems them is strong. His name is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. He will defend them and give them rest again in Israel. But for the people of Babylon there will be no rest!

Then I will give you good judges again and wise counselors like you used to have. Then Jerusalem will again be called the Home of Justice and the Faithful City.”Zion will be restored by justice; those who repent will be revived by righteousness.

In those days Israel was holy to the Lord, the first of his children. All who harmed his people were declared guilty, and disaster fell on them. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

“ But all who devour you will be devoured, and all your enemies will be sent into exile. All who plunder you will be plundered, and all who attack you will be attacked.

Let us, your servants, see you work again; let our children see your glory.And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful. Yes, make our efforts successful!

And I will give them one heart and one purpose: to worship me forever, for their own good and for the good of all their descendants.

The children of your people will live in security. Their children’s children will thrive in your presence.”

You will be secure under a government that is just and fair. Your enemies will stay far away. You will live in peace, and terror will not come near.
