So, now the LORD says,‘ You have not listened to me. But you have made me angry by the things that you have done. Thus you have brought harm on yourselves.’

惟爾不聽我、事爾手所作之偶像、干我震怒、自取災害、此乃主所言、

“ But you did not listen to me,” declares the Lord,“ and you have aroused my anger with what your hands have made, and you have brought harm to yourselves.”

“‘ But you did not listen to me,’ announces the Lord.‘ You have made me very angry with the gods your hands have made. And you have brought harm on yourselves.’

Yet you have not listened to me, declares the Lord, that you might provoke me to anger with the work of your hands to your own harm.

“ But you would not listen to me,” says the Lord.“ You made me furious by worshiping idols you made with your own hands, bringing on yourselves all the disasters you now suffer.

“‘ But you have not obeyed me’— this is the LORD’s declaration—‘ with the result that you have angered me by the work of your hands and brought disaster on yourselves.’

Yet you have not listened to Me,” declares the Lord,“ in order to provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands to your own harm.

Yet you have not listened to Me,” says the Lord,“ that you might provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.

Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith Jehovah; that ye may provoke me to anger with the work of your hands to your own hurt.

“‘ But you would not obey Me’— this is the Lord’s declaration—‘ in order that you might provoke Me to anger by the work of your hands and bring disaster on yourselves.’

“ Yet you have not listened to me,” says Yahweh;“ that you may provoke me to anger with the work of your hands to your own hurt.”

because they have done evil in my sight and have angered me from the time their ancestors left Egypt right up to this very day!’”

This will happen because the people of Israel and Judah have repeatedly done what displeases me from their earliest history until now and because they have repeatedly made me angry by the things they have done. I, the LORD, affirm it!This will happen because the people of this city have aroused my anger and my wrath since the time they built it until now. They have made me so angry that I am determined to remove it from my sight.I am determined to do so because the people of Israel and Judah have made me angry with all their wickedness– they, their kings, their officials, their priests, their prophets, and especially the people of Judah and the citizens of Jerusalem have done this wickedness.They have turned away from me instead of turning to me. I tried over and over again to instruct them, but they did not listen and respond to correction.

They have made me jealous with false gods, enraging me with their worthless gods; so I will make them jealous with a people they do not recognize, with a nation slow to learn I will enrage them.

But the one who does not find me brings harm to himself; all who hate me love death.”

“ Nonetheless they grew disobedient and rebelled against you; they disregarded your law. They killed your prophets who had solemnly admonished them in order to cause them to return to you. They committed atrocious blasphemies.

They passed their sons and daughters through the fire, and practiced divination and omen reading. They committed themselves to doing evil in the sight of the LORD and made him angry.

Children are gathering firewood, fathers are building fires with it, and women are mixing dough to bake cakes to offer to the goddess they call the Queen of Heaven. They are also pouring out drink offerings to other gods. They seem to do all this just to trouble me.But I am not really the one being troubled!” says the LORD.“ Rather they are bringing trouble on themselves to their own shame!
