“ Now therefore, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,‘ Yahweh says:“ Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a plan against you. Everyone return from his evil way now, and amend your ways and your doings.”’

Hear this, all you peoples. Listen, all you inhabitants of the world,both low and high, rich and poor together.

He called all the multitude to himself, and said to them,“ Hear me, all of you, and understand.There is nothing from outside of the man, that going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man.

“ Yahweh says:‘ Stand in the court of Yahweh’s house, and speak to all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in Yahweh’s house, all the words that I command you to speak to them. Don’t omit a word.

Then Jeremiah came from Topheth, where Yahweh had sent him to prophesy, and he stood in the court of Yahweh’s house, and said to all the people:“ Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says,‘ Behold, I will bring on this city and on all its towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it, because they have made their neck stiff, that they may not hear my words.’”

“ Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says:‘ Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem,“ Will you not receive instruction to listen to my words?” says Yahweh.

Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashhur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur the son of Malchijah, heard the words that Jeremiah spoke to all the people, saying,“ Yahweh says,‘ He who remains in this city will die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence; but he who goes out to the Chaldeans will live, and he will escape with his life, and he will live.’
