You who live in‘ Lebanon,’ who are nestled in cedar buildings, how you will groan when pangs come upon you, pain like that of a woman in labor!

Some of you live in Jerusalem in the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon. You are comfortable in your cedar buildings. But you will groan when pain comes on you. It will be like the pain of a woman having a baby.

O inhabitant of Lebanon, nested among the cedars, how you will be pitied when pangs come upon you, pain as of a woman in labor!”

It may be nice to live in a beautiful palace paneled with wood from the cedars of Lebanon, but soon you will groan with pangs of anguish— anguish like that of a woman in labor.

我們聽到這風聲，手腳發軟，痛苦萬分，如分娩的婦人。

你這荒涼的城啊！你在做什麽？縱然你穿上紅袍，戴上金飾，描眉畫眼，又有什麼用呢？你的情人藐視你，要殺害你。我聽見好像婦人分娩時的喊叫聲，好像婦人生頭胎時的痛苦呻吟。那是錫安城的喊叫聲，她在喘息，伸出雙手說：「噢！我有禍了，我要死在殺戮者手上了。」

論到猶大王的宮殿，耶和華說：「雖然它在我眼中美如基列，又像黎巴嫩的山峰，但我必使它變成不毛之地，變成杳無人煙的城邑。

他們沒有真心呼求我，只是在床上哭號。他們為求五穀和新酒而割傷自己，卻背棄了我。

摩押人啊，你們要離開城邑，住到岩洞裡，像鴿子在岩縫裡築巢一樣。

從光禿的山頭傳來聲音，是以色列子民哭泣呼求的聲音，因為他們走入歧途，忘掉了他們的上帝耶和華。

我要撇下他們，返回我的居所，直到他們知罪來尋求我。在苦難的日子裡，他們必懇切地尋求我。」來吧，讓我們歸向耶和華！祂撕裂我們，也必醫治我們；祂擊打我們，也必為我們裹傷。

你這棲身在石縫間、盤踞在高山上的民族啊，你令人驚懼、心高氣傲，其實只是自欺。儘管你像老鷹在高處搭窩，我也必把你拉下來。這是耶和華說的。

耶和華說：「我聽見驚恐不安的喊叫聲。你們去問問，男人能分娩嗎？為什麼我看見男人們都雙手捂著肚子，好像分娩的婦人臉色鐵青呢？

巴蘭又觀看基尼人，並以詩歌預言說：「雖然你的居所堅固，你的巢築在峭壁，

「為自己的家積蓄不義之財、在高處搭窩躲避災禍的人啊，你們有禍了！

黎巴嫩啊，打開你的門吧，好讓火焰吞噬你的香柏樹。松樹啊，哀號吧，因為香柏樹已經倒下，挺拔的樹木已被毀壞。巴珊的橡樹啊，哀號吧，因為茂密的樹林已被砍倒。

耶和華說，耶路撒冷啊，你座落在山谷之上，如平原的磐石，自以為無人能攻擊你，無人能闖入你的住處。但我要攻擊你，

即使你如鷹高飛，在星辰間築巢，我也必把你拉下來。這是耶和華說的。

耶和華說：「那時，以色列人要與猶大人一同哭著來尋求他們的上帝耶和華。他們必打聽前往錫安的路，朝錫安走去。他們必憑不會被遺忘的永恆之約歸附耶和華。

即使他們挖洞鑽進陰間，我也要把他們揪出來；即使他們爬上高天，我也要把他們拉下來；
