Lord Almighty, you who examine the righteous and probe the heart and mind, let me see your vengeance on them, for to you I have committed my cause.

Lord, you rule over all. You test those who do what is right. You see what is in people’s hearts and minds. So pay them back for what they’ve done. I’ve committed my cause to you.

O LORD who rules over all, you test and prove the righteous. You see into people’s hearts and minds. Pay them back for what they have done because I trust you to vindicate my cause.

Trust in him at all times;[ ye] people, pour out your heart before him: God[ is] a refuge for us. Selah.

For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen[ his desire] upon mine enemies.

Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.

I the LORD search the heart,[ I] try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways,[ and] according to the fruit of his doings.

The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see[ my desire] upon mine enemies.

Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.For thy lovingkindness[ is] before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.

The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited[ me] in the night; thou hast tried me,[ and] shalt find nothing; I am purposed[ that] my mouth shall not transgress.

And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

Like a crane[ or] a swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail[ with looking] upward: O LORD, I am oppressed; undertake for me.

Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls[ to him] in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I[ am] a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.

And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

Remember that I stood before thee to speak good for them,[ and] to turn away thy wrath from them.Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and pour out their[ blood] by the force of the sword; and let their wives be bereaved of their children, and[ be] widows; and let their men be put to death;[ let] their young men[ be] slain by the sword in battle.Let a cry be heard from their houses, when thou shalt bring a troop suddenly upon them: for they have digged a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feet.Yet, LORD, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay[ me]: forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown before thee; deal[ thus] with them in the time of thine anger.

Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand.When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.Let his days be few;[ and] let another take his office.Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek[ their bread] also out of their desolate places.Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour.Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children.Let his posterity be cut off;[ and] in the generation following let their name be blotted out.Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.Let it be unto him as the garment[ which] covereth him, and for a girdle wherewith he is girded continually.[ Let] this[ be] the reward of mine adversaries from the LORD, and of them that speak evil against my soul.

Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed[ himself] to him that judgeth righteously:

Let them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.

For true and righteous[ are] his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.
