神像前面站着以色列的七十个长老，沙番的儿子雅撒尼亚也在当中，他们每人手中都拿着香炉，烟雾缭绕。祂又对我说：“人子啊，你看见以色列的长老在自己藏神像的房间里暗中所做的了吗？他们说，‘耶和华看不见我们，祂已经抛弃了这片土地。’”

又像瓦器一样被摔得粉碎，找不到一块可以用来从火炉中取炭或从水池里舀水的碎片。’”

“你去陶匠家，在那里我有话告诉你。”我便到陶匠家，见他正用轮盘做器皿。每当他手中的器皿做坏了，他就用那块泥重做，想怎么做就怎么做。

锡安的宝贝子民本来贵如黄金，现在竟被视为陶匠制作的瓦器！

我们不过是瓦器，里面却有这宝贝，要显明这莫大的能力是上帝的，而不是我们自己的。

他派身披麻衣的宫廷总管以利亚敬、书记舍伯那和祭司中的长者去见亚摩斯的儿子以赛亚先知，

那时，祭司长和民间的长老正聚集在大祭司该亚法的府里，

将男女老幼全部杀尽，但你们不能伤害额上有记号的。你们要从圣所开始。”于是他们首先杀了殿前的众长老。

以利亚撒的子孙中做首领的比以他玛的子孙中做首领的多，他们被分成班次，以利亚撒的子孙中有十六个族长，以他玛的子孙中有八个族长。因为以利亚撒的子孙中和以他玛的子孙中都有人在圣所做首领事奉上帝，他们便用抽签的方法公平地分班，分别在以利亚撒和以他玛家族中抽签。利未人拿坦业的儿子示玛雅是书记。他在君王、首领、撒督祭司、亚比亚他的儿子亚希米勒、众祭司和利未人的族长面前把抽出的名字记录下来。

到了清晨，众祭司长和民间的长老商定要处死耶稣。

祭司长、律法教师和长老也嘲讽说：“祂救了别人，却救不了自己！祂要是以色列的王，就从十字架上跳下来吧！我们就信祂。

“耶利米啊，你要在同去的人面前打碎瓦瓶，然后告诉他们万军之耶和华说，‘我要把这百姓和这城打得粉碎，正如人打碎瓦瓶一样，再也不能修复。人们要在陀斐特埋死人，直到无处可埋。

“以色列的上帝——万军之耶和华吩咐你把封印的和没有封印的两份地契放在一个瓦瓶里，长期保存。

第二天，官长、长老和律法教师都聚集在耶路撒冷，大祭司亚那，以及该亚法、约翰、亚历山大和大祭司的许多亲族都在场。
