众水使它生长，深水使它长高；所栽之地有江河环绕，汊出的水道流至田野的树木。所以它高大超过田野的树木；生长时因水源丰沛，枝子繁多，枝条增长。空中所有的飞鸟在枝子上搭窝，野地所有的走兽在枝条下生子，所有的大国也在它的荫下居住。它树大枝长，极为荣美，因它的根在众水之旁。神园中的香柏树不能遮蔽它；松树不及它的枝子，枫树不及它的枝条，神园中的树都没有它荣美。我使它枝条繁多，极为荣美；在神的园中，伊甸所有的树都嫉妒它。”所以主耶和华如此说：“因它高大，树顶高耸入云，心高气傲，

河这边与那边的岸上必生长各类树木，可作食物；叶子不枯干，果子不断绝。每月必结新果子，因为这水是从圣所流出来的。树上的果子必作食物，叶子可以治病。”

你却高举了我的角，如野牛的角；我是被新油膏抹的。我的眼睛看见我的仇敌遭报，我的耳朵听见那些起来攻击我的恶人受罚。义人要兴旺如棕树，生长如黎巴嫩的香柏树。他们栽于耶和华的殿中，发旺在我们神的院里。他们发白的时候仍结果子，而且鲜美多汁，好显明耶和华是正直的；他是我的磐石，在他毫无不义。

他在日光之下茂盛，嫩枝在园中蔓延；

耶和华的话临到耶利米，论到旱灾的事：“犹大悲哀，城门衰败；众人坐在地上哀恸，耶路撒冷的哀声上达。他们的贵族打发僮仆去打水；他们来到水池，找不到水，就拿着空器皿，蒙羞惭愧，抱头而回。因为无雨降在地上，土地就干裂，农夫为此蒙羞抱头。田野的母鹿因为无草也撇弃才生的小鹿。野驴站在光秃的高地喘气，好像野狗；它们的眼目因无草而失明。”
