I will winnow them with a winnowing fork at the city gates of the land. I will bring bereavement and destruction on my people, for they have not changed their ways.

I will stand at the city gates of the land. I will separate the straw from the grain. I will destroy my people. I will bring great sorrow on them. They have not changed their ways.

The LORD continued,“ In every town in the land I will purge them like straw blown away by the wind. I will destroy my people. I will kill off their children. I will do so because they did not change their behavior.

這人民還沒有回轉、歸向那擊打他們的萬軍之耶和華，也沒有尋求他。

你必簸揚它們，風要把它們吹去，旋風也要把它們吹散；但你要靠耶和華喜樂，以以色列的聖者誇耀。

我必打發外族人去巴比倫簸揚它，揚淨它的地；在它遭禍的日子，他們必從四圍攻擊它。

因此，願你使他們的兒女遭受饑荒，把他們交給刀劍（“刀劍”原文作“刀劍的手”）；願他們的妻子喪夫失子；願他們的男人被殺死，他們的壯丁在戰場上被刀劍擊殺。

耶和華啊！你的眼目不是要看誠實的事嗎？你擊打他們，他們卻不覺得傷痛；你摧毀他們，他們仍不肯接受管教。他們板著臉，臉皮比磐石還硬，總不肯回轉。

即使他們把兒女養大，我也必使他們喪子，一個不留。我離棄他們的時候，他們就有禍了。”在我看來，以法蓮的兒女注定被當作獵物；以法蓮要把自己的兒女帶出來，交給施行殺戮的人。耶和華啊，求你賜給他們；你要賜給他們甚麼呢？求你使他們墜胎小產，乳房萎縮。“他們的一切罪惡都在吉甲，我在那裡憎恨他們，因他們的惡行，我要把他們從我的家裡趕出來；我不再愛他們，他們的領袖都是叛徒。以法蓮被擊打，他們的根枯乾了，必不能再結果子。即使他們生產，我必殺死他們所生的愛子。”我的神必棄絕他們，因為他們不聽從他；他們必在列國中飄流。

惡人卻不是這樣，他們好像糠秕，被風吹散。

“你要對他們說：‘耶和華這樣說：人跌倒了，不再起來嗎？人偏離了，不再回轉嗎？這人民為甚麼背道，耶路撒冷為甚麼長久偏離？他們定意行詭詐，不肯回轉。

不要效法你們的列祖那樣，從前的先知呼喚他們：萬軍之耶和華這樣說，你們要回轉，離開你們的惡道和惡行。他們卻不聽從，也不理會我（這是耶和華的宣告）。

“人子啊！我從他們中間奪去他們的堡壘、他們所喜歡的榮耀、他們眼所喜愛的、心所崇尚的和他們的兒女的時候，

到那時，必有話對這人民和耶路撒冷說：“有一陣熱風從曠野光禿的高岡，颳向我的子民（“我的子民”原文作“我子民的女子”），不是為簸散，也不是為揚淨；這過強的風要為我颳來，我就要向他們宣告我的判詞。”

“我在你們中間降下瘟疫，正如臨到埃及的瘟疫一樣；我用刀殺掉你們的年輕人，你們被擄去的馬匹也遭殺戮；我使你們營裡死屍的臭氣撲鼻，但你們仍不歸向我。”這是耶和華的宣告。“我傾覆你們，就像傾覆所多瑪和蛾摩拉一樣；你們像一根木柴，從火裡抽出來；但你們仍不歸向我。”這是耶和華的宣告。“因此，以色列啊！我必這樣對付你。以色列啊！因我必這樣對付你，你應當預備迎見你的神。”

你必生兒養女，卻不是屬你的，因為他們都要被擄去。

‘你要告訴以色列家，主耶和華這樣說：看哪！我必使我的聖所被褻瀆，這聖所就是你們所誇耀的勢力，眼所喜愛的，心中所愛惜的。你們遺下的兒女，都必倒在刀下。

你身所生的、土地所出的、牛生殖的和羊所產的，都必受咒詛。

你的兒女必被交給別國的民，你必親眼看見，日日為他們焦慮；你必無能為力。

因為死亡從窗戶上來，進入我們的堡壘；要從街上剪除孩童，從廣場上剪除年輕人。

你在仇敵圍困和窘迫你的時候，要吃你身所生的，就是吃耶和華你的神賜給你的兒女的肉。你們中間溫柔嫩弱的男人，必敵視自己的兄弟、懷中的妻子和餘剩的兒女；甚至在你的仇敵圍困和窘迫你在各城裡的時候，他要吃自己兒女的肉，卻不肯分給他們任何人，因為他沒有甚麼剩下的。你們中間溫柔嬌嫩的婦人，素來因為溫柔嬌嫩不肯把腳掌踏在地上，現在必敵視自己懷中的丈夫和自己的兒女。
