如爾間何為遭難、則爾當知、罪惡眾多、故裸爾體、跣爾足。

如爾中心曰、此諸事臨我何故、則爾當知爾罪甚多、故爾裸體跣足、

And if you ask yourself,“ Why has this happened to me?”— it is because of your many sins that your skirts have been torn off and your body mistreated.

Suppose you ask yourself,“ Why has this happened to me?” It’s because you have committed so many sins. That’s the reason your skirt has been torn off. That’s why your body has been treated so badly.

And if you say in your heart,‘ Why have these things come upon me?’ it is for the greatness of your iniquity that your skirts are lifted up and you suffer violence.

You may ask yourself,“ Why is all this happening to me?” It is because of your many sins! That is why you have been stripped and raped by invading armies.

And when you ask yourself,“ Why have these things happened to me?” it is because of your great guilt that your skirts have been stripped off, your body exposed.

If you say in your heart,‘ Why have these things happened to me?’ Because of the magnitude of your wrongdoing Your skirts have been removed And your heels have suffered violence.

And if you say in your heart,“ Why have these things come upon me?” For the greatness of your iniquity Your skirts have been uncovered, Your heels made bare.

And if thou say in thy heart, Wherefore are these things come upon me? for the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts uncovered, and thy heels suffer violence.

And when you ask yourself,“ Why have these things happened to me?” It is because of your great guilt that your skirts have been stripped off, your body exposed.

And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered,[ and] thy heels made bare.

You will probably ask yourself,‘ Why have these things happened to me? Why have I been treated like a disgraced adulteress whose skirt has been torn off and her limbs exposed?’ It is because you have sinned so much.

If you say in your heart,“ Why have these things come on me?” Your skirts are uncovered because of the greatness of your iniquity, and your heels suffer violence.

“ I am against you,” declares the Lord Almighty.“ I will lift your skirts over your face. I will show the nations your nakedness and the kingdoms your shame. (niv)

And when the people ask,‘ Why has the Lord our God done all this to us?’ you will tell them,‘ As you have forsaken me and served foreign gods in your own land, so now you will serve foreigners in a land not your own.’ (niv)

So now I will expose her lewdness before the eyes of her lovers; no one will take her out of my hands. (niv)

“ When you tell these people all this and they ask you,‘ Why has the Lord decreed such a great disaster against us? What wrong have we done? What sin have we committed against the Lord our God?’then say to them,‘ It is because your ancestors forsook me,’ declares the Lord,‘ and followed other gods and served and worshiped them. You may say to yourselves,“ These nations are stronger than we are. How can we drive them out?” (niv)

Have you not brought this on yourselves by forsaking the Lord your God when he led you in the way?Now why go to Egypt to drink water from the Nile? And why go to Assyria to drink water from the Euphrates?Your wickedness will punish you; your backsliding will rebuke you. Consider then and realize how evil and bitter it is for you when you forsake the Lord your God and have no awe of me,” declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty. (niv)

therefore I am going to gather all your lovers, with whom you found pleasure, those you loved as well as those you hated. I will gather them against you from all around and will strip you in front of them, and they will see you stark naked.I will sentence you to the punishment of women who commit adultery and who shed blood; I will bring on you the blood vengeance of my wrath and jealous anger.Then I will deliver you into the hands of your lovers, and they will tear down your mounds and destroy your lofty shrines. I will pull up your skirts over your face that your shame may be seen— (niv)

The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves,“ Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked,“ Why are you thinking these things in your hearts? (niv)

so the king of Assyria will lead away stripped and barefoot the Egyptian captives and Cushite exiles, young and old, with buttocks bared— to Egypt’s shame. (niv)

Otherwise I will strip her naked and make her as bare as on the day she was born; I will make her like a desert, turn her into a parched land, and slay her with thirst. (niv)

You may say to yourselves,“ How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” (niv)

You may say to yourself,“ My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” (niv)

“ Now then, listen, you lover of pleasure, lounging in your security and saying to yourself,‘ I am, and there is none besides me. I will never be a widow or suffer the loss of children.’ (niv)

So I will put a stop to the lewdness and prostitution you began in Egypt. You will not look on these things with longing or remember Egypt anymore.“ For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am about to deliver you into the hands of those you hate, to those you turned away from in disgust.They will deal with you in hatred and take away everything you have worked for. They will leave you stark naked, and the shame of your prostitution will be exposed. Your lewdness and promiscuity (niv)

Take millstones and grind flour; take off your veil. Lift up your skirts, bare your legs, and wade through the streams.Your nakedness will be exposed and your shame uncovered. I will take vengeance; I will spare no one.” (niv)

Ephraim boasts,“ I am very rich; I have become wealthy. With all my wealth they will not find in me any iniquity or sin.” (niv)
