Yahweh says,“ Concerning all my evil neighbors, who touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: Behold, I will pluck them up from off their land, and will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.

This is what the Lord says:“ As for all my wicked neighbors who seize the inheritance I gave my people Israel, I will uproot them from their lands and I will uproot the people of Judah from among them.

Here is what the Lord says.“ All my evil neighbors have taken over the land I gave my people Israel. So I will pull them up by their roots from the lands they live in. And I will pull up the roots of the people of Judah from among them.

Thus says the Lord concerning all my evil neighbors who touch the heritage that I have given my people Israel to inherit:“ Behold, I will pluck them up from their land, and I will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.

Now this is what the Lord says:“ I will uproot from their land all the evil nations reaching out for the possession I gave my people Israel. And I will uproot Judah from among them.

This is what the Lord says concerning all My wicked neighbors who do harm to the inheritance with which I have endowed My people Israel:“ Behold, I am going to drive them out of their land, and I will drive the house of Judah out from among them.

Thus says the Lord:“ Against all My evil neighbors who touch the inheritance which I have caused My people Israel to inherit— behold, I will pluck them out of their land and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.

Thus saith Jehovah against all mine evil neighbors, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: behold, I will pluck them up from off their land, and will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.

This is what the Lord says:“ Concerning all My evil neighbors who attack the inheritance that I bequeathed to My people, Israel, I am about to uproot them from their land, and I will uproot the house of Judah from them.

Thus saith the LORD against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.

“ I, the LORD, also have something to say concerning the wicked nations who surround my land and have attacked and plundered the land that I gave to my people as a permanent possession. I say:‘ I will uproot the people of those nations from their lands and I will free the people of Judah who have been taken there.

For Yahweh of Armies says:‘ For honor he has sent me to the nations which plundered you; for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye.

that then Yahweh your God will release you from captivity, have compassion on you, and will return and gather you from all the peoples where Yahweh your God has scattered you.

In those days the house of Judah will walk with the house of Israel, and they will come together out of the land of the north to the land that I gave for an inheritance to your fathers.

Israel was holiness to Yahweh, the first fruits of his increase. All who devour him will be held guilty. Evil will come on them,”’ says Yahweh.”

It will happen in that day that the Lord will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.The envy also of Ephraim will depart, and those who persecute Judah will be cut off. Ephraim won’t envy Judah, and Judah won’t persecute Ephraim.They will fly down on the shoulders of the Philistines on the west. Together they will plunder the children of the east. They will extend their power over Edom and Moab, and the children of Ammon will obey them.Yahweh will utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his scorching wind he will wave his hand over the River, and will split it into seven streams, and cause men to march over in sandals.There will be a highway for the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, like there was for Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.

Save us, Yahweh, our God, gather us from among the nations, to give thanks to your holy name, to triumph in your praise!

Of Edom, Yahweh of Armies says:“ Is wisdom no more in Teman? Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom vanished?

Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,“ Son of man, set your face toward the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them.Tell the children of Ammon,‘ Hear the word of the Lord Yahweh! The Lord Yahweh says,“ Because you said,‘ Aha!’ against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was made desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity:therefore, behold, I will deliver you to the children of the east for a possession. They will set their encampments in you, and make their dwellings in you. They will eat your fruit and they will drink your milk.I will make Rabbah a stable for camels, and the children of Ammon a resting place for flocks. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.”For the Lord Yahweh says:“ Because you have clapped your hands, stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the contempt of your soul against the land of Israel;therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand on you, and will deliver you for a plunder to the nations. I will cut you off from the peoples, and I will cause you to perish out of the countries. I will destroy you. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.”“‘ The Lord Yahweh says:“ Because Moab and Seir say,‘ Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations;’therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon, and Kiriathaim,to the children of the east, to go against the children of Ammon; and I will give them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations.I will execute judgments on Moab. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”“‘ The Lord Yahweh says:“ Because Edom has dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and has greatly offended, and taken revenge on them;”therefore the Lord Yahweh says,“ I will stretch out my hand on Edom, and will cut off man and animal from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman. They will fall by the sword even to Dedan.I will lay my vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel. They will do in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath. Then they will know my vengeance,” says the Lord Yahweh.“‘ The Lord Yahweh says:“ Because the Philistines have taken revenge, and have taken vengeance with contempt of soul to destroy with perpetual hostility;”therefore the Lord Yahweh says,“ Behold, I will stretch out my hand on the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast.I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful rebukes. Then they will know that I am Yahweh, when I lay my vengeance on them.”’”

I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the insults of the children of Ammon, with which they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border.Therefore as I live, says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, surely Moab will be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, a possession of nettles, and salt pits, and a perpetual desolation. The remnant of my people will plunder them, and the survivors of my nation will inherit them.This they will have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of Yahweh of Armies.

“‘“ For I will take you from among the nations and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land.

For, behold, I will stir up and cause to come up against Babylon a company of great nations from the north country; and they will set themselves in array against her. She will be taken from there. Their arrows will be as of an expert mighty man. None of them will return in vain.Chaldea will be a prey. All who prey on her will be satisfied,” says Yahweh.“ Because you are glad, because you rejoice, O you who plunder my heritage, because you are wanton as a heifer that treads out the grain, and neigh as strong horses;your mother will be utterly disappointed. She who bore you will be confounded. Behold, she will be the least of the nations, a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.Because of Yahweh’s wrath she won’t be inhabited, but she will be wholly desolate. Everyone who goes by Babylon will be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.Set yourselves in array against Babylon all around, all you who bend the bow; shoot at her. Spare no arrows; for she has sinned against Yahweh.Shout against her all around. She has submitted herself. Her bulwarks have fallen. Her walls have been thrown down, for it is the vengeance of Yahweh. Take vengeance on her. As she has done, do to her.Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him who handles the sickle in the time of harvest. For fear of the oppressing sword, they will each return to their own people, and they will each flee to their own land.“ Israel is a hunted sheep. The lions have driven him away. First, the king of Assyria devoured him, and now at last Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones.”

Behold, at that time I will deal with all those who afflict you, and I will save those who are lame, and gather those who were driven away. I will give them praise and honor, whose shame has been in all the earth.At that time I will bring you in, and at that time I will gather you; for I will give you honor and praise among all the peoples of the earth, when I restore your fortunes before your eyes, says Yahweh.

“ Behold, I will gather them out of all the countries where I have driven them in my anger, and in my wrath, and in great indignation; and I will bring them again to this place. I will cause them to dwell safely.

As a shepherd seeks out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered abroad, so I will seek out my sheep. I will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.I will bring them out from the peoples, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land. I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the watercourses, and in all the inhabited places of the country.

The children of Judah and the children of Israel will be gathered together, and they will appoint themselves one head, and will go up from the land; for great will be the day of Jezreel.

For Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says:“ The daughter of Babylon is like a threshing floor at the time when it is trodden. Yet a little while, and the time of harvest comes for her.”“ Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon has devoured me. He has crushed me. He has made me an empty vessel. He has, like a monster, swallowed me up. He has filled his mouth with my delicacies. He has cast me out.May the violence done to me and to my flesh be on Babylon!” the inhabitant of Zion will say; and,“ May my blood be on the inhabitants of Chaldea!” will Jerusalem say.

Moreover Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,“ Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it,and tell it,‘ The Lord Yahweh says:“ Behold, I am against you, Mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against you. I will make you a desolation and an astonishment.I will lay your cities waste, and you will be desolate. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.“‘“ Because you have had a perpetual hostility, and have given over the children of Israel to the power of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time of the iniquity of the end;therefore, as I live,” says the Lord Yahweh,“ I will prepare you for blood, and blood will pursue you. Since you have not hated blood, therefore blood will pursue you.Thus I will make Mount Seir an astonishment and a desolation. I will cut off from it him who passes through and him who returns.I will fill its mountains with its slain. The slain with the sword will fall in your hills and in your valleys and in all your watercourses.I will make you a perpetual desolation, and your cities will not be inhabited. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.“‘“ Because you have said,‘ These two nations and these two countries will be mine, and we will possess it;’ whereas Yahweh was there:therefore, as I live,” says the Lord Yahweh,“ I will do according to your anger, and according to your envy which you have shown out of your hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them when I judge you.You will know that I, Yahweh, have heard all your insults which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying,‘ They have been laid desolate. They have been given us to devour.’You have magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, and have multiplied your words against me. I have heard it.”The Lord Yahweh says:“ When the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate.As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so I will do to you. You will be desolate, Mount Seir, and all Edom, even all of it. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.’”

“‘ The Lord Yahweh says:“ When I have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and am sanctified in them in the sight of the nations, then they will dwell in their own land which I gave to my servant Jacob.

when I have brought them back from the peoples, and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations.They will know that I am Yahweh their God, in that I caused them to go into captivity among the nations, and have gathered them to their own land. Then I will leave none of them captive any more.

Of Moab. Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says:“ Woe to Nebo! For it is laid waste. Kiriathaim is disappointed. It is taken. Misgab is put to shame and broken down.The praise of Moab is no more. In Heshbon they have devised evil against her:‘ Come! Let’s cut her off from being a nation.’ You also, Madmen, will be brought to silence. The sword will pursue you.The sound of a cry from Horonaim, desolation and great destruction!Moab is destroyed. Her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.For they will go up by the ascent of Luhith with continual weeping. For at the descent of Horonaim they have heard the distress of the cry of destruction.Flee! Save your lives! Be like the juniper bush in the wilderness.For, because you have trusted in your works and in your treasures, you also will be taken. Chemosh will go out into captivity, his priests and his princes together.The destroyer will come on every city, and no city will escape; the valley also will perish, and the plain will be destroyed; as Yahweh has spoken.Give wings to Moab, that she may fly and get herself away: and her cities will become a desolation, without anyone to dwell in them.“ Cursed is he who does the work of Yahweh negligently; and cursed is he who keeps back his sword from blood.“ Moab has been at ease from his youth, and he has settled on his lees, and has not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither has he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remains in him, and his scent is not changed.Therefore behold, the days come,” says Yahweh,“ that I will send to him those who pour off, and they will pour him off; and they will empty his vessels, and break their containers in pieces.Moab will be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, their confidence.“ How do you say,‘ We are mighty men, and valiant men for the war?’Moab is laid waste, and they have gone up into his cities, and his chosen young men have gone down to the slaughter,” says the King, whose name is Yahweh of Armies.“ The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hurries fast.All you who are around him, bemoan him, and all you who know his name; say,‘ How the strong staff is broken, the beautiful rod!’“ You daughter who dwells in Dibon, come down from your glory, and sit in thirst; for the destroyer of Moab has come up against you. He has destroyed your strongholds.Inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way and watch. Ask him who flees, and her who escapes; say,‘ What has been done?’Moab is disappointed; for it is broken down. Wail and cry! They reached even to the sea of Jazer. The destroyer has fallen on your summer fruits and on your vintage.Gladness and joy is taken away from the fruitful field and from the land of Moab. I have caused wine to cease from the wine presses. No one will tread with shouting. The heart of the mighty men of Moab at that day will be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.Moab will be destroyed from being a people, because he has magnified himself against Yahweh.Terror, the pit, and the snare are on you, inhabitant of Moab,” says Yahweh.“ He who flees from the terror will fall into the pit; and he who gets up out of the pit will be taken in the snare: for I will bring on him, even on Moab, the year of their visitation,” says Yahweh.“ Those who fled stand without strength under the shadow of Heshbon; for a fire has gone out of Heshbon, and a flame from the middle of Sihon, and has devoured the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.Woe to you, O Moab! The people of Chemosh are undone; for your sons are taken away captive, and your daughters into captivity.“ Yet I will reverse the captivity of Moab in the latter days,” says Yahweh. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.Of the children of Ammon. Yahweh says:“ Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why then does Malcam possess Gad, and his people dwell in its cities?

I am very angry with the nations that are at ease; for I was but a little displeased, but they added to the calamity.”

“ Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of reeling to all the surrounding peoples, and it will also be on Judah in the siege against Jerusalem.It will happen in that day, that I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all the peoples. All who burden themselves with it will be severely wounded, and all the nations of the earth will be gathered together against it.In that day,” says Yahweh,“ I will strike every horse with terror, and his rider with madness; and I will open my eyes on the house of Judah, and will strike every horse of the peoples with blindness.

“ Don’t touch my anointed ones! Do my prophets no harm!”

“ I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them back; for I have mercy on them; and they will be as though I had not cast them off: for I am Yahweh their God, and I will hear them.Ephraim will be like a mighty man, and their heart will rejoice as through wine; yes, their children will see it, and rejoice. Their heart will be glad in Yahweh.I will signal for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them; and they will increase as they have increased.I will sow them among the peoples; and they will remember me in far countries; and they will live with their children, and will return.I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and there won’t be room enough for them.He will pass through the sea of affliction, and will strike the waves in the sea, and all the depths of the Nile will dry up; and the pride of Assyria will be brought down, and the scepter of Egypt will depart.I will strengthen them in Yahweh; and they will walk up and down in his name,” says Yahweh.

I will bring my people Israel back from captivity, and they will rebuild the ruined cities, and inhabit them; and they will plant vineyards, and drink wine from them. They shall also make gardens, and eat their fruit.I will plant them on their land, and they will no more be plucked up out of their land which I have given them,” says Yahweh your God.

Say to them,‘ The Lord Yahweh says:“ Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, where they have gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land.

For the violence done to your brother Jacob, shame will cover you, and you will be cut off forever.In the day that you stood on the other side, in the day that strangers carried away his substance, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots for Jerusalem, even you were like one of them.But don’t look down on your brother in the day of his disaster, and don’t rejoice over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction. Don’t speak proudly in the day of distress.Don’t enter into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity. Don’t look down on their affliction in the day of their calamity, neither seize their wealth on the day of their calamity.Don’t stand in the crossroads to cut off those of his who escape. Don’t deliver up those of his who remain in the day of distress.For the day of Yahweh is near all the nations! As you have done, it will be done to you. Your deeds will return upon your own head.For as you have drunk on my holy mountain, so will all the nations drink continually. Yes, they will drink, swallow down, and will be as though they had not been.

He said:“ Yahweh will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the pastures of the shepherds will mourn, and the top of Carmel will wither.”Yahweh says:“ For three transgressions of Damascus, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron;but I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, and it will devour the palaces of Ben Hadad.I will break the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the valley of Aven, and him who holds the scepter from the house of Eden; and the people of Syria shall go into captivity to Kir,” says Yahweh.Yahweh says:“ For three transgressions of Gaza, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they carried away captive the whole community, to deliver them up to Edom;but I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, and it will devour its palaces.I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him who holds the scepter from Ashkelon; and I will turn my hand against Ekron; and the remnant of the Philistines will perish,” says the Lord Yahweh.Yahweh says:“ For three transgressions of Tyre, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they delivered up the whole community to Edom, and didn’t remember the brotherly covenant;but I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre, and it will devour its palaces.”Yahweh says:“ For three transgressions of Edom, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because he pursued his brother with the sword, and cast off all pity, and his anger raged continually, and he kept his wrath forever;but I will send a fire on Teman, and it will devour the palaces of Bozrah.”Yahweh says:“ For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they have ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead, that they may enlarge their border.But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it will devour its palaces, with shouting in the day of battle, with a storm in the day of the whirlwind;and their king will go into captivity, he and his princes together,” says Yahweh.
