Thus says the Lord concerning all my evil neighbors who touch the heritage that I have given my people Israel to inherit:“ Behold, I will pluck them up from their land, and I will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.

耶和華曰、凡彼鄰邦、作惡不悛、侵伐我所、賜以色列族之土、我必救猶大家、得脫敵人之地、驅鄰邦出於其故土、

主如是云、我所賜我民以色列為業之地、附近之鄰邦俱惡、我必拔之出於故土、亦必救猶大族出於其中、

This is what the Lord says:“ As for all my wicked neighbors who seize the inheritance I gave my people Israel, I will uproot them from their lands and I will uproot the people of Judah from among them.

Here is what the Lord says.“ All my evil neighbors have taken over the land I gave my people Israel. So I will pull them up by their roots from the lands they live in. And I will pull up the roots of the people of Judah from among them.

Now this is what the Lord says:“ I will uproot from their land all the evil nations reaching out for the possession I gave my people Israel. And I will uproot Judah from among them.

This is what the LORD says:“ Concerning all my evil neighbors who attack the inheritance that I bequeathed to my people, Israel, I am about to uproot them from their land, and I will uproot the house of Judah from them.

This is what the Lord says concerning all My wicked neighbors who do harm to the inheritance with which I have endowed My people Israel:“ Behold, I am going to drive them out of their land, and I will drive the house of Judah out from among them.

Thus says the Lord:“ Against all My evil neighbors who touch the inheritance which I have caused My people Israel to inherit— behold, I will pluck them out of their land and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.

Thus saith Jehovah against all mine evil neighbors, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: behold, I will pluck them up from off their land, and will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.

This is what the Lord says:“ Concerning all My evil neighbors who attack the inheritance that I bequeathed to My people, Israel, I am about to uproot them from their land, and I will uproot the house of Judah from them.

Thus saith the LORD against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.

“ I, the LORD, also have something to say concerning the wicked nations who surround my land and have attacked and plundered the land that I gave to my people as a permanent possession. I say:‘ I will uproot the people of those nations from their lands and I will free the people of Judah who have been taken there.

Yahweh says,“ Concerning all my evil neighbors, who touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: Behold, I will pluck them up from off their land, and will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.

For thus said the Lord of hosts, after his glory sent me to the nations who plundered you, for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye:

then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes and have mercy on you, and he will gather you again from all the peoples where the Lord your God has scattered you.

In those days the house of Judah shall join the house of Israel, and together they shall come from the land of the north to the land that I gave your fathers for a heritage.

Israel was holy to the Lord, the firstfruits of his harvest. All who ate of it incurred guilt; disaster came upon them, declares the Lord.”

In that day the Lord will extend his hand yet a second time to recover the remnant that remains of his people, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the coastlands of the sea.He will raise a signal for the nations and will assemble the banished of Israel, and gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.The jealousy of Ephraim shall depart, and those who harass Judah shall be cut off; Ephraim shall not be jealous of Judah, and Judah shall not harass Ephraim.But they shall swoop down on the shoulder of the Philistines in the west, and together they shall plunder the people of the east. They shall put out their hand against Edom and Moab, and the Ammonites shall obey them.And the Lord will utterly destroy the tongue of the Sea of Egypt, and will wave his hand over the River with his scorching breath, and strike it into seven channels, and he will lead people across in sandals.And there will be a highway from Assyria for the remnant that remains of his people, as there was for Israel when they came up from the land of Egypt.

Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise.

Concerning Edom. Thus says the Lord of hosts:“ Is wisdom no more in Teman? Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom vanished?

The word of the Lord came to me:“ Son of man, set your face toward the Ammonites and prophesy against them.Say to the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord God: Thus says the Lord God, Because you said,‘ Aha!’ over my sanctuary when it was profaned, and over the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and over the house of Judah when they went into exile,therefore behold, I am handing you over to the people of the East for a possession, and they shall set their encampments among you and make their dwellings in your midst. They shall eat your fruit, and they shall drink your milk.I will make Rabbah a pasture for camels and Ammon a fold for flocks. Then you will know that I am the Lord.For thus says the Lord God: Because you have clapped your hands and stamped your feet and rejoiced with all the malice within your soul against the land of Israel,therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand against you, and will hand you over as plunder to the nations. And I will cut you off from the peoples and will make you perish out of the countries; I will destroy you. Then you will know that I am the Lord.“ Thus says the Lord God: Because Moab and Seir said,‘ Behold, the house of Judah is like all the other nations,’therefore I will lay open the flank of Moab from the cities, from its cities on its frontier, the glory of the country, Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim.I will give it along with the Ammonites to the people of the East as a possession, that the Ammonites may be remembered no more among the nations,and I will execute judgments upon Moab. Then they will know that I am the Lord.“ Thus says the Lord God: Because Edom acted revengefully against the house of Judah and has grievously offended in taking vengeance on them,therefore thus says the Lord God, I will stretch out my hand against Edom and cut off from it man and beast. And I will make it desolate; from Teman even to Dedan they shall fall by the sword.And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel, and they shall do in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath, and they shall know my vengeance, declares the Lord God.“ Thus says the Lord God: Because the Philistines acted revengefully and took vengeance with malice of soul to destroy in never-ending enmity,therefore thus says the Lord God, Behold, I will stretch out my hand against the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites and destroy the rest of the seacoast.I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful rebukes. Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I lay my vengeance upon them.”

“ I have heard the taunts of Moab and the revilings of the Ammonites, how they have taunted my people and made boasts against their territory.Therefore, as I live,” declares the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel,“ Moab shall become like Sodom, and the Ammonites like Gomorrah, a land possessed by nettles and salt pits, and a waste forever. The remnant of my people shall plunder them, and the survivors of my nation shall possess them.”This shall be their lot in return for their pride, because they taunted and boasted against the people of the Lord of hosts.

I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land.

For behold, I am stirring up and bringing against Babylon a gathering of great nations, from the north country. And they shall array themselves against her. From there she shall be taken. Their arrows are like a skilled warrior who does not return empty-handed.Chaldea shall be plundered; all who plunder her shall be sated, declares the Lord.“ Though you rejoice, though you exult, O plunderers of my heritage, though you frolic like a heifer in the pasture, and neigh like stallions,your mother shall be utterly shamed, and she who bore you shall be disgraced. Behold, she shall be the last of the nations, a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.Because of the wrath of the Lord she shall not be inhabited but shall be an utter desolation; everyone who passes by Babylon shall be appalled, and hiss because of all her wounds.Set yourselves in array against Babylon all around, all you who bend the bow; shoot at her, spare no arrows, for she has sinned against the Lord.Raise a shout against her all around; she has surrendered; her bulwarks have fallen; her walls are thrown down. For this is the vengeance of the Lord: take vengeance on her; do to her as she has done.Cut off from Babylon the sower, and the one who handles the sickle in time of harvest; because of the sword of the oppressor, every one shall turn to his own people, and every one shall flee to his own land.“ Israel is a hunted sheep driven away by lions. First the king of Assyria devoured him, and now at last Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has gnawed his bones.

Behold, at that time I will deal with all your oppressors. And I will save the lame and gather the outcast, and I will change their shame into praise and renown in all the earth.At that time I will bring you in, at the time when I gather you together; for I will make you renowned and praised among all the peoples of the earth, when I restore your fortunes before your eyes,” says the Lord.

Behold, I will gather them from all the countries to which I drove them in my anger and my wrath and in great indignation. I will bring them back to this place, and I will make them dwell in safety.

As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered, so will I seek out my sheep, and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness.And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land. And I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the ravines, and in all the inhabited places of the country.

And the children of Judah and the children of Israel shall be gathered together, and they shall appoint for themselves one head. And they shall go up from the land, for great shall be the day of Jezreel.

For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: The daughter of Babylon is like a threshing floor at the time when it is trodden; yet a little while and the time of her harvest will come.”“ Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon has devoured me; he has crushed me; he has made me an empty vessel; he has swallowed me like a monster; he has filled his stomach with my delicacies; he has rinsed me out.The violence done to me and to my kinsmen be upon Babylon,” let the inhabitant of Zion say.“ My blood be upon the inhabitants of Chaldea,” let Jerusalem say.

The word of the Lord came to me:“ Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it,and say to it, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, Mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against you, and I will make you a desolation and a waste.I will lay your cities waste, and you shall become a desolation, and you shall know that I am the Lord.Because you cherished perpetual enmity and gave over the people of Israel to the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, at the time of their final punishment,therefore, as I live, declares the Lord God, I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you; because you did not hate bloodshed, therefore blood shall pursue you.I will make Mount Seir a waste and a desolation, and I will cut off from it all who come and go.And I will fill its mountains with the slain. On your hills and in your valleys and in all your ravines those slain with the sword shall fall.I will make you a perpetual desolation, and your cities shall not be inhabited. Then you will know that I am the Lord.“ Because you said,‘ These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will take possession of them’— although the Lord was there—therefore, as I live, declares the Lord God, I will deal with you according to the anger and envy that you showed because of your hatred against them. And I will make myself known among them, when I judge you.And you shall know that I am the Lord.“ I have heard all the revilings that you uttered against the mountains of Israel, saying,‘ They are laid desolate; they are given us to devour.’And you magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, and multiplied your words against me; I heard it.Thus says the Lord God: While the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate.As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so I will deal with you; you shall be desolate, Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then they will know that I am the Lord.

“ Thus says the Lord God: When I gather the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and manifest my holiness in them in the sight of the nations, then they shall dwell in their own land that I gave to my servant Jacob.

when I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them from their enemies’ lands, and through them have vindicated my holiness in the sight of many nations.Then they shall know that I am the Lord their God, because I sent them into exile among the nations and then assembled them into their own land. I will leave none of them remaining among the nations anymore.

Concerning Moab. Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel:“ Woe to Nebo, for it is laid waste! Kiriathaim is put to shame, it is taken; the fortress is put to shame and broken down;the renown of Moab is no more. In Heshbon they planned disaster against her:‘ Come, let us cut her off from being a nation!’ You also, O Madmen, shall be brought to silence; the sword shall pursue you.“ A voice! A cry from Horonaim,‘ Desolation and great destruction!’Moab is destroyed; her little ones have made a cry.For at the ascent of Luhith they go up weeping; for at the descent of Horonaim they have heard the distressed cry of destruction.Flee! Save yourselves! You will be like a juniper in the desert!For, because you trusted in your works and your treasures, you also shall be taken; and Chemosh shall go into exile with his priests and his officials.The destroyer shall come upon every city, and no city shall escape; the valley shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed, as the Lord has spoken.“ Give wings to Moab, for she would fly away; her cities shall become a desolation, with no inhabitant in them.“ Cursed is he who does the work of the Lord with slackness, and cursed is he who keeps back his sword from bloodshed.“ Moab has been at ease from his youth and has settled on his dregs; he has not been emptied from vessel to vessel, nor has he gone into exile; so his taste remains in him, and his scent is not changed.“ Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I shall send to him pourers who will pour him, and empty his vessels and break his jars in pieces.Then Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, their confidence.“ How do you say,‘ We are heroes and mighty men of war’?The destroyer of Moab and his cities has come up, and the choicest of his young men have gone down to slaughter, declares the King, whose name is the Lord of hosts.The calamity of Moab is near at hand, and his affliction hastens swiftly.Grieve for him, all you who are around him, and all who know his name; say,‘ How the mighty scepter is broken, the glorious staff.’“ Come down from your glory, and sit on the parched ground, O inhabitant of Dibon! For the destroyer of Moab has come up against you; he has destroyed your strongholds.Stand by the way and watch, O inhabitant of Aroer! Ask him who flees and her who escapes; say,‘ What has happened?’Moab is put to shame, for it is broken; wail and cry! Tell it beside the Arnon, that Moab is laid waste.“ Judgment has come upon the tableland, upon Holon, and Jahzah, and Mephaath,and Dibon, and Nebo, and Beth-diblathaim,and Kiriathaim, and Beth-gamul, and Beth-meon,and Kerioth, and Bozrah, and all the cities of the land of Moab, far and near.The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, declares the Lord.“ Make him drunk, because he magnified himself against the Lord, so that Moab shall wallow in his vomit, and he too shall be held in derision.Was not Israel a derision to you? Was he found among thieves, that whenever you spoke of him you wagged your head?“ Leave the cities, and dwell in the rock, O inhabitants of Moab! Be like the dove that nests in the sides of the mouth of a gorge.We have heard of the pride of Moab— he is very proud— of his loftiness, his pride, and his arrogance, and the haughtiness of his heart.I know his insolence, declares the Lord; his boasts are false, his deeds are false.Therefore I wail for Moab; I cry out for all Moab; for the men of Kir-hareseth I mourn.More than for Jazer I weep for you, O vine of Sibmah! Your branches passed over the sea, reached to the Sea of Jazer; on your summer fruits and your grapes the destroyer has fallen.Gladness and joy have been taken away from the fruitful land of Moab; I have made the wine cease from the winepresses; no one treads them with shouts of joy; the shouting is not the shout of joy.“ From the outcry at Heshbon even to Elealeh, as far as Jahaz they utter their voice, from Zoar to Horonaim and Eglath-shelishiyah. For the waters of Nimrim also have become desolate.And I will bring to an end in Moab, declares the Lord, him who offers sacrifice in the high place and makes offerings to his god.Therefore my heart moans for Moab like a flute, and my heart moans like a flute for the men of Kir-hareseth. Therefore the riches they gained have perished.“ For every head is shaved and every beard cut off. On all the hands are gashes, and around the waist is sackcloth.On all the housetops of Moab and in the squares there is nothing but lamentation, for I have broken Moab like a vessel for which no one cares, declares the Lord.How it is broken! How they wail! How Moab has turned his back in shame! So Moab has become a derision and a horror to all that are around him.”For thus says the Lord:“ Behold, one shall fly swiftly like an eagle and spread his wings against Moab;the cities shall be taken and the strongholds seized. The heart of the warriors of Moab shall be in that day like the heart of a woman in her birth pains;Moab shall be destroyed and be no longer a people, because he magnified himself against the Lord.Terror, pit, and snare are before you, O inhabitant of Moab! declares the Lord.He who flees from the terror shall fall into the pit, and he who climbs out of the pit shall be caught in the snare. For I will bring these things upon Moab, the year of their punishment, declares the Lord.“ In the shadow of Heshbon fugitives stop without strength, for fire came out from Heshbon, flame from the house of Sihon; it has destroyed the forehead of Moab, the crown of the sons of tumult.Woe to you, O Moab! The people of Chemosh are undone, for your sons have been taken captive, and your daughters into captivity.Yet I will restore the fortunes of Moab in the latter days, declares the Lord.” Thus far is the judgment on Moab.Concerning the Ammonites. Thus says the Lord:“ Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why then has Milcom dispossessed Gad, and his people settled in its cities?

And I am exceedingly angry with the nations that are at ease; for while I was angry but a little, they furthered the disaster.

“ Behold, I am about to make Jerusalem a cup of staggering to all the surrounding peoples. The siege of Jerusalem will also be against Judah.On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who lift it will surely hurt themselves. And all the nations of the earth will gather against it.On that day, declares the Lord, I will strike every horse with panic, and its rider with madness. But for the sake of the house of Judah I will keep my eyes open, when I strike every horse of the peoples with blindness.

saying,“ Touch not my anointed ones, do my prophets no harm!”

“ I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph. I will bring them back because I have compassion on them, and they shall be as though I had not rejected them, for I am the Lord their God and I will answer them.Then Ephraim shall become like a mighty warrior, and their hearts shall be glad as with wine. Their children shall see it and be glad; their hearts shall rejoice in the Lord.“ I will whistle for them and gather them in, for I have redeemed them, and they shall be as many as they were before.Though I scattered them among the nations, yet in far countries they shall remember me, and with their children they shall live and return.I will bring them home from the land of Egypt, and gather them from Assyria, and I will bring them to the land of Gilead and to Lebanon, till there is no room for them.He shall pass through the sea of troubles and strike down the waves of the sea, and all the depths of the Nile shall be dried up. The pride of Assyria shall be laid low, and the scepter of Egypt shall depart.I will make them strong in the Lord, and they shall walk in his name,” declares the Lord.

I will restore the fortunes of my people Israel, and they shall rebuild the ruined cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink their wine, and they shall make gardens and eat their fruit.I will plant them on their land, and they shall never again be uprooted out of the land that I have given them,” says the Lord your God.

then say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will take the people of Israel from the nations among which they have gone, and will gather them from all around, and bring them to their own land.

Because of the violence done to your brother Jacob, shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off forever.On the day that you stood aloof, on the day that strangers carried off his wealth and foreigners entered his gates and cast lots for Jerusalem, you were like one of them.But do not gloat over the day of your brother in the day of his misfortune; do not rejoice over the people of Judah in the day of their ruin; do not boast in the day of distress.Do not enter the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; do not gloat over his disaster in the day of his calamity; do not loot his wealth in the day of his calamity.Do not stand at the crossroads to cut off his fugitives; do not hand over his survivors in the day of distress.For the day of the Lord is near upon all the nations. As you have done, it shall be done to you; your deeds shall return on your own head.For as you have drunk on my holy mountain, so all the nations shall drink continually; they shall drink and swallow, and shall be as though they had never been.

And he said:“ The Lord roars from Zion and utters his voice from Jerusalem; the pastures of the shepherds mourn, and the top of Carmel withers.”Thus says the Lord:“ For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they have threshed Gilead with threshing sledges of iron.So I will send a fire upon the house of Hazael, and it shall devour the strongholds of Ben-hadad.I will break the gate-bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitants from the Valley of Aven, and him who holds the scepter from Beth-eden; and the people of Syria shall go into exile to Kir,” says the Lord.Thus says the Lord:“ For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they carried into exile a whole people to deliver them up to Edom.So I will send a fire upon the wall of Gaza, and it shall devour her strongholds.I will cut off the inhabitants from Ashdod, and him who holds the scepter from Ashkelon; I will turn my hand against Ekron, and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish,” says the Lord God.Thus says the Lord:“ For three transgressions of Tyre, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they delivered up a whole people to Edom, and did not remember the covenant of brotherhood.So I will send a fire upon the wall of Tyre, and it shall devour her strongholds.”Thus says the Lord:“ For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because he pursued his brother with the sword and cast off all pity, and his anger tore perpetually, and he kept his wrath forever.So I will send a fire upon Teman, and it shall devour the strongholds of Bozrah.”Thus says the Lord:“ For three transgressions of the Ammonites, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they have ripped open pregnant women in Gilead, that they might enlarge their border.So I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour her strongholds, with shouting on the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind;and their king shall go into exile, he and his princes together,” says the Lord.
