Over all the barren heights in the desert destroyers will swarm, for the sword of the Lord will devour from one end of the land to the other; no one will be safe.

你們大喊，『耶和華的刀啊，你何時才停下來呢？求你入鞘吧！停下來吧！』

我的上帝說：「他們必得不到平安。」

因為從錫安傳出哀鳴，『我們滅亡了！我們受了奇恥大辱！我們的家園被毀，我們只好背井離鄉。』」婦人啊，你們要聽耶和華的話，接受祂的教誨；你們要教導女兒哀哭，教導鄰居唱輓歌。因為死亡從窗戶爬進我們的城堡，吞滅街上的孩童和廣場上的青年。

摩押不再受稱讚，敵人在希實本圖謀害她，說，『來吧！我們剷除這個國家。』瑪得緬啊，你也將被敵人追殺，變得死寂無聲。

看啊，耶和華要在火中降臨，祂的戰車好像旋風。祂要發烈怒，用火焰懲罰。因為耶和華要用火和劍審判世人，殺死許多人。

古實人啊，你們必死在耶和華的刀下。

「你舉目看看那些光禿的高山，哪裡沒有被你玷污過呢？你坐在路旁等候情郎，就像曠野的遊牧者，你的淫亂惡行玷污了土地。

因此耶和華說，既然你們不聽我的話，不給自己的同胞自由，看啊，我必使你們自由地死在戰爭、瘟疫和饑荒中，使你們的遭遇令天下萬國驚懼。這是耶和華說的。

如果他們問你，『我們該去哪裡，』你就告訴他們，耶和華這樣說，『該死的死，該被殺的被殺，該遭饑荒的遭饑荒，該被擄的被擄。』
