They have returned to the sins of their ancestors, who refused to listen to my words. They have followed other gods to serve them. Both Israel and Judah have broken the covenant I made with their ancestors.

主諭摩西曰、爾與列祖偕寢之後、斯民必起、存邪僻之心、往拜異邦之神、即所將往之地、其居民所敬之神、違棄我、背我與彼所立之約、

莫傚其列祖違背叛逆、居心不中正、向天主意不誠實、以法蓮之後裔、如人持弓箭器械、臨陣之時、回身逃避、不謹守天主之約言、不肯遵行天主之律法、

迨士師卒後、民仍行惡、較先人更甚、從他神、服事而叩拜、不更其惡事、不改其逆行、

主天主如是云、爾輕視誓言、背棄盟約、我必循爾所行以待爾、

彼背約若亞當、在其處在其處原文作在彼悖逆我、

王乃上主殿、猶大人眾、耶路撒冷居民、祭司、利未人、並一切民眾、無論老少、悉與王偕上、王讀主殿中所得之約書、使眾聞之、王立於其所、或作王立於臺上在主前立約、必盡心盡意順從主、守主之誡命、法度、律例、以成此書所載之約言、使凡在耶路撒冷及便雅憫者、悉從此約、於是耶路撒冷居民、遵主其天主之約而行、約西亞自以色列各地除諸可憎者、使凡在以色列地者崇事主其天主、約西亞存日、民恆從主其列祖之天主不離焉、

爾當記憶不忘、爾在曠野常干主爾天主震怒、自爾出伊及之日、迄至此時、爾常違逆主、

此約、不似我與其祖所立之約、即我援其手、導之出伊及時所立者、蓋彼不守我約、故我不眷顧之、此乃主所言者、

背逆耶和華、不尋求耶和華、不祈禱耶和華者、我悉必翦滅、

言曰、爾強項、心不悟、耳不聰之人、恆逆聖神、爾祖如是、爾曹亦如是、有何先知而爾祖不窘逐之乎、預言義者將至之人、爾祖殺之、此義者、今爾已賣而殺之、

失信悖逆與其列祖無異、改變有如弓翻、

此因以色列人獲罪於主其天主、天主昔導之出伊及、脫於伊及王法老之手、彼反敬畏他神、昔主於以色列人前、逐異族之民、以色列人乃從其習俗、亦從以色列王擅設之陋規、以色列人私行非法、背逆主其天主、自戍樓以及鞏固之城、各處建築邱壇、在各高岡上、各茂樹下、立柱像與亞舍拉、亞舍拉或作木偶在諸邱壇上焚香、效主在其前所逐異族之民、行諸惡事、干犯主怒、主曾禁之曰、勿拜偶像、而彼反拜之、主藉諸先知與諸先見、警戒以色列人及猶大人曰、當棄惡行、守我誡命法度、循我所命爾列祖、又藉我僕眾先知授爾之律法、斯民不聽、強項不馴、不信主其天主、與其列祖無異、違棄主之律例、及主與其列祖所立之約、並主警戒之言、從虛無之神、行虛妄之事、主命之勿效四周異邦人所為、彼反從之、棄主其天主之一切誡命、鎔鑄二犢、立亞舍拉、亞舍拉或作木偶崇拜天之萬象、奉事巴力、焚獻子女、原文作使其子女過於火用邪術、信卜筮、專行惡於主前、干犯其怒、主甚怒以色列人、逐於其前、所留者惟猶大一支派而已、猶大人亦不守主其天主之誡命、從以色列人擅設之陋規、於是主棄以色列全族、降以災禍、付於敵手而被擄、終逐之離於其前、

彼異邦人、心不潔、身不潔、身不潔或作身不受割禮下同爾導之入我聖所、以污褻我殿、爾雖為我獻祭、焚脂灑血、仍行諸可憎之事、背我盟約、

藐視我之律例、心厭我之法度、不遵我諸誡命而違我約、

主曰、毋效爾之列祖、昔日之眾先知曾告之曰、萬有之主如是云、爾當悔改、勿行惡道、勿作惡事、勿行惡道勿作惡事或作離爾惡道惡行彼不聽、不順我、此乃主所言、

非若昔與其祖所立之約、在我援手導彼出伊及地之時、我雖為其主、彼仍違背此約、或作昔我援手導其列祖出伊及之時與彼立約我雖為其主彼仍爽我約今所立之約必不若是此乃主所言、

彼所歸誠者、非至上之主、彼如已翻之弓、其侯伯殞亡於刃、因其口出狂言、必因此為伊及國之人所姍笑、當以口吹角、宣眾曰、敵將速至如鷹、攻耶和華之殿、緣斯民背我盟約、犯我律法、

主曰、以法蓮乎、我將如何待爾、猶大乎、我將如何待爾、爾之善良、善良或作虔敬猶若朝雲、亦若晨露、立時消散、
