“ Before I formed you in your mother’s womb I chose you. Before you were born I set you apart. I appointed you to be a prophet to the nations.”

“ Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee; I have appointed thee a prophet unto the nations.

Listen to me, you coastlands! Pay attention, you people who live far away! The LORD summoned me from birth; he commissioned me when my mother brought me into the world.

Your eyes saw me when I was inside the womb. All the days ordained for me were recorded in your scroll before one of them came into existence.

But when the one who set me apart from birth and called me by his grace was pleasedto reveal his Son in me so that I could preach him among the Gentiles, I did not go to ask advice from any human being,

For you give me confidence, O Lord; O LORD, I have trusted in you since I was young.I have leaned on you since birth; you pulled me from my mother’s womb. I praise you continually.

because those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

So now the LORD says, the one who formed me from birth to be his servant– he did this to restore Jacob to himself, so that Israel might be gathered to him; and I will be honored in the LORD’s sight, for my God is my source of strength–

However, God’s solid foundation remains standing, bearing this seal:“ The Lord knows those who are his,” and“ Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from evil.”Now in a wealthy home there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also ones made of wood and of clay, and some are for honorable use, but others for ignoble use.So if someone cleanses himself of such behavior, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart, useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.

This is what the LORD, the one who made you, says– the one who formed you in the womb and helps you:“ Don’t be afraid, my servant Jacob, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen!

And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High. For you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways,

When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.

for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He must never drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even before his birth.

From Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God.

It was he who gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,to equip the saints for the work of ministry, that is, to build up the body of Christ,

And God put all things under Christ’s feet, and he gave him to the church as head over all things.

But the one who will rescue them is strong. He is known as the LORD who rules over all. He will strongly champion their cause. As a result he will bring peace and rest to the earth, but trouble and turmoil to the people who inhabit Babylonia.

So the LORD, the God of Israel, spoke to me in a vision.“ Take this cup from my hand. It is filled with the wine of my wrath. Take it and make the nations to whom I send you drink it.When they have drunk it, they will stagger to and fro and act insane. For I will send wars sweeping through them.”So I took the cup from the LORD’s hand. I made all the nations to whom he sent me drink the wine of his wrath.I made Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, its kings and its officials drink it. I did it so Judah would become a ruin. I did it so Judah, its kings, and its officials would become an object of horror and of hissing scorn, an example used in curses. Such is already becoming the case!I made all of these other people drink it: Pharaoh, king of Egypt; his attendants, his officials, his people,the foreigners living in Egypt; all the kings of the land of Uz; all the kings of the land of the Philistines, the people of Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, the people who had been left alive from Ashdod;all the people of Edom, Moab, Ammon;all the kings of Tyre, all the kings of Sidon; all the kings of the coastlands along the sea;the people of Dedan, Tema, Buz, all the desert people who cut their hair short at the temples;all the kings of Arabia who live in the desert;all the kings of Zimri; all the kings of Elam; all the kings of Media;all the kings of the north, whether near or far from one another; and all the other kingdoms which are on the face of the earth. After all of them have drunk the wine of the LORD’s wrath, the king of Babylon must drink it.
