Now then, during the night you and your men should come and lie in wait in the fields.

So come with your men during the night. Hide in the fields and wait.

Now tonight, you and the people with you are to come wait in ambush in the countryside.

Now, come up at night with your men and set an ambush in the field outside the city.

If they say—“ Come with us! Let’s set an ambush and kill someone. Let’s attack some innocent person just for fun!Let’s swallow them alive, like Sheol, whole, like those who go down to the Pit.We’ll find all kinds of valuable property and fill our houses with plunder.Throw in your lot with us, and we’ll all share the loot”—my son, don’t travel that road with them or set foot on their path,because their feet run toward evil and they hurry to shed blood.

For they can’t sleep unless they have done what is evil; they are robbed of sleep unless they make someone stumble.

Their feet are swift to shed blood;

The murderer rises at dawn to kill the poor and needy, and by night he becomes a thief.The adulterer’s eye watches for twilight, thinking,“ No eye will see me,” and he covers his face.In the dark they break into houses; by day they lock themselves in, never experiencing the light.For the morning is like darkness to them. Surely they are familiar with the terrors of darkness!

Even on his bed he makes malicious plans. He sets himself on a path that is not good, and he does not reject evil.
