“但你要谨慎，殷勤保守你的心灵，免得忘记你亲眼所看见的事，又免得在你一生的年日这些事离开你的心，总要把它们传给你的子子孙孙。

现在你要派人去召集以色列众人，以及耶洗别所供养的四百五十个巴力的先知和四百个亚舍拉的先知，叫他们都上迦密山到我这里来。”

亚哈又造亚舍拉，他所做的惹耶和华—以色列的神发怒，比他以前所有的以色列王更严重。

“你为耶和华—你的神筑坛，不可在坛旁栽种任何树木作亚舍拉，

又打碎柱像，砍下亚舍拉，用人的骨头填满那地方。

他作王第八年，尚且年轻，就寻求他祖先大卫的神。到了十二年，他开始洁净犹大和耶路撒冷，除掉丘坛、亚舍拉、雕刻的像和铸造的像。

拆毁祭坛，把亚舍拉和雕刻的像打碎成灰，砍断以色列全地所有的香坛。于是他回耶路撒冷去了。
