The men of Israel had taken an oath at Mizpah:“ Not one of us will give his daughter in marriage to a Benjamite.”

The men of Israel had made a promise at Mizpah. They had said,“ Not one of us will give his daughter to be married to a man from Benjamin.”

Now the men of Israel had sworn at Mizpah,“ No one of us shall give his daughter in marriage to Benjamin.”

The Israelites had vowed at Mizpah,“ We will never give our daughters in marriage to a man from the tribe of Benjamin.”

The men of Israel had sworn an oath at Mizpah:“ None of us will give his daughter to a Benjaminite in marriage.”

眾民都起來如同一人，說：「我們連一人都不回自己帳棚、自己房屋去。

你在神面前不可冒失開口，也不可心急發言；因為神在天上，你在地下，所以你的言語要寡少。

又對她起誓說：「隨你向我求甚麼，就是我國的一半，我也必給你。」

以色列人彼此問說：「以色列各支派中，誰沒有同會眾上到耶和華面前來呢？」先是以色列人起過大誓說，凡不上米斯巴到耶和華面前來的，必將他治死。

百姓中有一人對他說：「你父親曾叫百姓嚴嚴地起誓說，今日吃甚麼的，必受咒詛；因此百姓就疲乏了。」約拿單說：「我父親連累你們了。你看，我嘗了這一點蜜，眼睛就明亮了。

到了天亮，猶太人同謀起誓，說：「若不先殺保羅就不吃不喝。」

耶和華－你神將他們交給你擊殺，那時你要把他們滅絕淨盡，不可與他們立約，也不可憐恤他們。不可與他們結親。不可將你的女兒嫁他們的兒子，也不可叫你的兒子娶他們的女兒；

我們要在以色列各支派中，一百人挑取十人，一千人挑取百人，一萬人挑取千人，為民運糧，等大眾到了便雅憫的基比亞，就照基比亞人在以色列中所行的醜事征伐他們。」

我們既在耶和華面前起誓說，必不將我們的女兒給便雅憫人為妻，現在我們當怎樣辦理、使他們剩下的人有妻呢？」

我可以證明，他們向神有熱心，但不是按着真知識；

耶弗他就向耶和華許願，說：「你若將亞捫人交在我手中，我從亞捫人那裏平平安安回來的時候，無論甚麼人，先從我家門出來迎接我，就必歸你，我也必將他獻上為燔祭。」

你必憑誠實、公平、公義，指着永生的耶和華起誓；列國必因耶和華稱自己為有福，也必因他誇耀。

掃羅叫百姓起誓說，凡不等到晚上向敵人報完了仇吃甚麼的，必受咒詛。因此這日百姓沒有吃甚麼，就極其困憊。

你要謹慎，不可與你所去那地的居民立約，恐怕成為你們中間的網羅；卻要拆毀他們的祭壇，打碎他們的柱像，砍下他們的木偶。不可敬拜別神；因為耶和華是忌邪的神，名為忌邪者。只怕你與那地的居民立約，百姓隨從他們的神，就行邪淫，祭祀他們的神，有人叫你，你便吃他的祭物，又為你的兒子娶他們的女兒為妻，他們的女兒隨從她們的神，就行邪淫，使你的兒子也隨從她們的神行邪淫。
