Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be[ as thorns] in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you.

今我有言曰、必不驅逐斯民於爾前、被為荊棘於爾脇、或作為攻爾之敵彼之諸神、必陷爾於網羅、

And I have also said,‘ I will not drive them out before you; they will become traps for you, and their gods will become snares to you.’”

I have said something else. I said,‘ I will not drive out those people to make room for you. They and their gods will become traps for you.’ ”

So now I say, I will not drive them out before you, but they shall become thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare to you.”

So now I declare that I will no longer drive out the people living in your land. They will be thorns in your sides, and their gods will be a constant temptation to you.”

Therefore, I now say: I will not drive out these people before you. They will be thorns in your sides, and their gods will be a trap for you.”

Therefore I also said,‘ I will not drive them out from you; but they will become like thorns in your sides, and their gods will be a snare to you.’ ”

Therefore I also said,‘ I will not drive them out before you; but they shall be thorns in your side, and their gods shall be a snare to you.’”

Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you.

Therefore, I now say: I will not drive out these people before you. They will be thorns in your sides, and their gods will be a trap for you.”

At that time I also warned you,‘ If you disobey, I will not drive out the Canaanites before you. They will ensnare you and their gods will lure you away.’”

Therefore I also said,‘ I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be in your sides, and their gods will be a snare to you.’”

Know for a certainty that the LORD your God will no more drive out[ any of] these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.

But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them[ shall be] pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.

And thou shalt consume all the people which the LORD thy God shall deliver thee; thine eye shall have no pity upon them: neither shalt thou serve their gods; for that[ will be] a snare unto thee.

And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.

And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons, and served their gods.

They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee.

I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died:

Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:

But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians,[ and] Hittites;Of the nations[ concerning] which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you:[ for] surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.For it came to pass, when Solomon was old,[ that] his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as[ was] the heart of David his father.For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as[ did] David his father.Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that[ is] before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.
