到第五天、他清早起來要走；女子的父親說：『請喫點點心吧』；他們就躭延、直到日頭偏西；二人同喫東西。

原來約拿單沒有聽見他父親向人民所起的誓，故此伸出手中的杖，用杖頭蘸在蜂房裏，轉手送到口中；這一來，他眼睛就明亮了。人民中有一個人應時地說：『你父親曾向人民鄭重地起誓說：「今天喫甚麼食物的人必受咒詛」；因此人民都疲乏了。』約拿單說：『我父親把這地方搞壞了；你看，我嘗了這一點蜜，我眼睛就明亮了。

用過飯，力量就增加了。掃羅同大馬色的門徒在一起有些日子，

又給他一塊無花果乾、兩團葡萄乾；他喫了精神就復原，因為他已經三天三夜沒有喫飯，也沒有喝水。

王對神人說：『請跟我到家裏去、喫點點心；我也要將禮物賜給你。』

有酒使人的心歡喜，使他臉面油潤、煥發光輝，又有食物給人做點心。

耶穌對他們說：『實行差我者的旨意、而完成他的工：這就是我的食物。
