后来，西坡拉生了一个儿子，摩西给他取名叫革舜，意思是“我成了在异乡寄居的人”。

祂离弃了设在示罗的圣幕，就是祂在人间的居所。祂任凭自己的约柜被人掳去，让自己的荣耀落在敌人手中。祂使自己的子民被刀剑杀戮，向自己的产业大发怒气。

以色列人又做耶和华视为恶的事，耶和华就把他们交在非利士人手中四十年。

‘凡雕刻或铸造耶和华所憎恶的神像，并偷偷供奉的必受咒诅！’全体民众要回答说，‘阿们！’

摩西的两个儿子一个叫革舜，因为摩西说：“我成了在异乡寄居的人”；

“如果有人在你们的上帝耶和华将要赐给你们的各城镇做祂视为恶的事，违背祂的约，不遵守祂的禁令，去供奉和祭拜其他神明，祭拜日、月或星辰，你们得知后，必须彻底调查。如果属实，在以色列确实有人做这种可憎之事，就要把那人带到城门口，用石头打死他。但你们不可单凭一个证人便处死那人，要有两三个证人方可处死他。证人要先扔石头，众人随后，这样就除掉了你们中间的罪恶。

“你们不可为自己制造偶像，不可竖立神像和神柱，也不可在你们境内安放祭拜用的石像。我是你们的上帝耶和华。

祂把列国的土地赐给他们，使他们获得别人的劳动成果。祂这样做是要使他们持守祂的命令，遵行祂的律法。你们要赞美耶和华！

我知道，我死后你们会彻底堕落，偏离我吩咐你们行的道，做耶和华视为恶的事，惹祂发怒，将来祸患必临到你们。”

“不可为自己雕刻神像，不可仿照任何飞禽走兽或水族的样子造神像，

耶和华对摩西说：“你快要与祖先同眠了。这些百姓将很快在要占领的土地上与外族人的神明苟合，背弃我，违背我与他们所立的约。
