When he returned the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, she said,“ I solemnly consecrate my silver to the Lord for my son to make an image overlaid with silver. I will give it back to you.”

He gave the 28 pounds of silver back to his mother. She said to him,“ I’m making a promise to set apart my silver to the Lord. My son, I want you to use it to cover a statue of a god made out of wood or stone. That’s why I’ll give the silver back to you.”

And he restored the 1,100 pieces of silver to his mother. And his mother said,“ I dedicate the silver to the Lord from my hand for my son, to make a carved image and a metal image. Now therefore I will restore it to you.”

He returned the money to her, and she said,“ I now dedicate these silver coins to the Lord. In honor of my son, I will have an image carved and an idol cast.”

He returned the 1,100 pieces of silver to his mother, and his mother said,“ I personally consecrate the silver to the LORD for my son’s benefit to make a carved image and a silver idol. I will give it back to you.”

He then returned the 1,100 pieces of silver to his mother, and his mother said,“ I wholly consecrate the silver from my hand to the Lord for my son to make a carved image and a cast metal image; so now I will return them to you.”

So when he had returned the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, his mother said,“ I had wholly dedicated the silver from my hand to the Lord for my son, to make a carved image and a molded image; now therefore, I will return it to you.”

And he restored the eleven hundred pieces of silver to his mother; and his mother said, I verily dedicate the silver unto Jehovah from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it unto thee.

He returned the 1,100 pieces of silver to his mother, and his mother said,“ I personally consecrate the silver to the Lord for my son’s benefit to make a carved image overlaid with silver.”

And when he had restored the eleven hundred[ shekels] of silver to his mother, his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the silver unto the LORD from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it unto thee.

When he gave back to his mother the eleven hundred pieces of silver, his mother said,“ I solemnly dedicate this silver to the LORD. It will be for my son’s benefit. We will use it to make a carved image and a metal image.”

He restored the eleven hundred pieces of silver to his mother, then his mother said,“ I most certainly dedicate the silver to Yahweh from my hand for my son, to make a carved image and a molten image. Now therefore I will restore it to you.”

“不可为自己做偶像，也不可做天上、地下和地底下水中各物的形象。

你们不可转向偶像，也不可为自己铸造神像；我是耶和华你们的神。

你们不可做银的神像和金的神像和我相比，你们决不可为自己做这些神像。

因为万民所信奉的都是虚空，只是从林中砍下的树木，是匠人用凿刀制成的产品。他们用金银把它修饰，用钉子和锤子把它钉牢，使它不动摇。它们像瓜田里的稻草人，不能说话；它们必须要人抬着走，因为它们不能走路。你们不要害怕它们，因它们不能降祸，也不能降福。”

他们全是顽梗愚昧，他们所领受的教导是来自那些虚无、木做的偶像。

也要拆毁他们的祭坛，打碎他们的神柱；用火焚烧他们的亚舍拉，砍倒他们的神的雕像，并且把他们的名字从这地方除灭。

米迦说：“现在我知道耶和华必善待我，因为有一个利未人作我的祭司。”

雕刻的像有什么用处呢？不过是匠人雕刻出来的；铸造的像、虚假的教师，有什么用处呢？匠人竟倚靠自己所做，那不能说话的假神。你这对木头说“起来”，对哑石说“醒吧”的人，有祸了！它怎能教导你呢？看哪！它包金镶银，里面却全无气息。

你不可为自己铸造神像。

你们把谁来跟神相比呢？你们用什么形象来与神并列呢？至于偶像，是匠人铸造的，铸匠用金子把它包裹，用银子为它做银链。贫穷献不起这供物的，就拣选不朽坏的树木，为自己寻找巧匠，立起不会动摇的偶像。你们不曾知道吗？你们不曾听见吗？不是从起初就已经告诉过你们吗？自从大地的根基立了以来，你们还不曾明白吗？神坐在大地的圆穹之上，地上的居民好像蚱蜢，他铺张诸天如铺张幔子，展开众天像展开可以居住的帐棚。他使诸侯都归于无有，使地上的审判官成为虚空。他们才刚刚栽上，刚刚种上，他们的树头刚刚在地里扎根，他一吹在其上，他们就枯干了，旋风把他们像碎秸一样吹去。那圣者说：“你们把谁来跟我相比，使他与我相等呢？”

宰牛献祭，又杀人，献羊羔为祭，又打折狗的颈项；献上素祭，又献上猪血；烧乳香作记念祭，又称颂虚无之神；他们选择他们自己的道路，他们的心里喜悦他们那些可憎恶的事。

制造偶像的人，尽都是虚空的，他们所喜爱的，都没有益处。他们的见证人，一无所见，一无所知，以致他们蒙羞。谁制造神像，或铸造偶像，不想得到益处呢？看哪！所有与它同伙的都必蒙羞；工匠也不过是人罢了。让他们都集合起来，都站立起来；让他们都惧怕，都一同蒙羞。铁匠先用工具在铁上雕刻，然后在火炭中加工，再用锤子把铁锤成形状，用他有力的膀臂锤成。他若饥饿，就没有力量；他若不喝水，就疲乏。木匠拉线，用笔画出轮廓，用刨子刨平，用圆规画出模样，做成人的形状，有人一般的美丽，好住在庙里。他为自己砍伐香柏树，或选取榆树和橡树，让它在树林中长起来；他栽种松树，让雨水使它长大。人可以用这树作燃料，可以拿来生火取暖，又可以烧着烤饼；人竟然用它做神像敬拜，他做了雕刻的偶像，又向它叩拜。他把木头的一半放在火里燃烧；在上面烤肉；吃了烤肉，并且吃饱了，就自己烤火取暖，说：“哈哈！我暖和了，我看见火了。”他用剩下来的一半做了一个神像，就是他雕刻的偶像，他向它俯伏，向它敬拜，又向它祷告，说：“求你救我，因为你是我的神。”他们并不知道，也不明白；因为耶和华闭住他们的眼睛，使他们不能看见，塞住他们的心，使他们不能明白。没有人细心思想，也没有人有知识有聪明说：“我把木头的一半放在火里燃烧，我也在炭火上烘过饼，烤过肉吃，剩下的，我却用来做了一个可憎之物，我要向木头叩拜吗？”他所追求的只是灰尘，被迷惑了的心使他偏离正道了；他不能救自己，也不会说：“在我的右手中不是有个假神吗？”

他们对他说：“请你求问神，使我们知道我们要走的道路是否顺利。”

列国的偶像是金的、银的，是人手所做的。它们有口，却不能说话；有眼，却不能看；有耳，却不能听；有鼻，却不能闻；有手，却不能摸；有脚，却不能行；也不能用喉咙发声。做偶像的必和偶像一样；凡是倚靠它们的，都必这样。

人要把你们赶出会堂；并且时候要到，所有要杀害你们的人，以为这样就是事奉神。
