Half drunk by now, the people demanded,“ Bring out Samson so he can amuse us!” So he was brought from the prison to amuse them, and they had him stand between the pillars supporting the roof.

When they were in good spirits, they said,“ Bring Samson here to entertain us.” So they brought Samson from prison, and he entertained them. They had him stand between the pillars.

It so happened when they were in high spirits, that they said,“ Call for Samson, that he may amuse us.” So they called for Samson from the prison, and he entertained them. And they made him stand between the pillars.

So it happened, when their hearts were merry, that they said,“ Call for Samson, that he may perform for us.” So they called for Samson from the prison, and he performed for them. And they stationed him between the pillars.

And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the prison- house; and he made sport before them. And they set him between the pillars:

示劍人出城到田間採摘葡萄，踩榨葡萄汁，然後在他們的神廟中歡宴，盡情吃喝，咒詛亞比米勒。

押沙龍吩咐僕人說：「你們要留意，當暗嫩喝得正高興的時候，我叫你們殺他，你們就要動手。不要畏縮，要剛強勇敢！因為這是我的命令。」

但你們還是歡喜作樂，宰牛殺羊，喝酒吃肉，說：「讓我們吃喝吧！因為明天我們就死了。」

我遭遇患難時，他們卻聚在一起幸災樂禍，合夥誹謗我。素不相識的人也群起攻擊我，不住地譭謗我。他們肆無忌憚地嘲弄我，咬牙切齒地憎惡我。

我的仇敵啊，你們不要對我幸災樂禍！我雖跌倒，但必再爬起來；我雖坐在黑暗裡，但耶和華必做我的光。我得罪了耶和華，所以要忍受祂的懲罰，直到祂為我辯護，替我伸冤。祂必領我進入光明，我必親睹祂的公義。從前嘲笑我說「你的上帝耶和華在哪裡」的仇敵看見這事，都必滿面羞愧。我必親眼看見他們遭到報應，他們要像街上的泥土一樣被人踐踏。

過路的人都嘲笑祂，搖著頭說：「你這聲稱把聖殿拆毀又在三天內重建的人啊，救救自己吧！你要是上帝的兒子，就從十字架上下來吧！」祭司長、律法教師和長老也嘲諷說：「祂救了別人，卻救不了自己！祂要是以色列的王，就從十字架上跳下來吧！我們就信祂。祂說信靠上帝，如果上帝喜悅祂，就讓上帝來救祂吧！因為祂自稱是上帝的兒子。」甚至跟祂一同被釘十字架的強盜也這樣嘲笑祂。

信差奉王的命令急忙上路，諭旨也在書珊城裡頒佈了。王和哈曼坐下飲酒，書珊城一片慌亂。

便·哈達和諸王正在營中飲酒，聽見這話，就吩咐屬下準備攻城。

用荊棘編成冠冕，戴在祂頭上，又拿一根葦稈放在祂右手裡，跪在祂跟前戲弄祂，說：「猶太人的王萬歲！」

在希律的生日那天，希羅底的女兒出來在眾人面前跳舞。希律非常高興，就起誓答應她無論要什麼都可以。

因為他們迫害你擊打過的人，嘲笑你所打傷之人的痛苦。

他帶著妾和僕人起來要走的時候，岳父對他說：「看啊，太陽偏西了，天色已晚，再住一夜高興高興，明天一早再走吧。」

王暢飲的時候，命人將先王尼布甲尼撒從耶路撒冷聖殿中擄來的金銀器皿拿來，供他與大臣、王后和妃嬪用來飲酒。於是，他們把從耶路撒冷上帝殿中擄來的金器拿來，王與大臣、王后和妃嬪便用這些器皿飲酒。

「如今，他們竟唱歌諷刺我，我成了他們的笑柄。他們厭惡我，不願靠近我，任意朝我臉上吐唾沫。

我成了街談巷議的話題，醉漢作歌取笑我。

他們就吐唾沫在祂臉上，揮拳打祂。還有人一邊打祂耳光，一邊說：「基督啊！給我們說預言吧，是誰在打你？」

祭司聽了非常高興，就帶著以弗得、家庭神像及雕刻的偶像跟隨了他們。

仇敵跌倒，不要幸災樂禍；仇敵敗落，不要心裡歡喜。否則，耶和華看見會不悅，不再向仇敵發烈怒。

有些人遭受戲弄和鞭打，還有些人遭受捆鎖和囚禁。
