Then the woman went and told her husband,“ A man of God came to me. He looked like the awe-inspiring angel of God. I didn’t ask him where he came from, and he didn’t tell me his name.

婦歸告夫曰、有上帝僕就我、其容髣髴上帝之使、可畏之甚、我未問其奚自、彼未以名告我、

婦至告夫曰、上帝有僕就我、其容可畏、髣髴上帝之使、我不問其何自、彼不以名告我、

婦歸、告夫曰、有一神人就我、其貌甚可畏、髣髴天主之使者、我未詢其奚自、彼不以其名告我、

Then the woman went to her husband and told him,“ A man of God came to me. He looked like an angel of God, very awesome. I didn’t ask him where he came from, and he didn’t tell me his name.

The woman ran and told her husband,“ A man of God appeared to me! He looked like one of God’s angels, terrifying to see. I didn’t ask where he was from, and he didn’t tell me his name.

Then the woman came and told her husband, saying,“ A man of God came to me, and his appearance was like the appearance of the angel of God, very awesome. So I did not ask him where he came from, nor did he tell me his name.

The woman went and said to her husband,“ A man sent from God came to me! He looked like God’s angelic messenger– he was very awesome. I did not ask him where he came from, and he did not tell me his name.

Then the woman came and told her husband, saying,“ A man of God came to me, and his face was like the face of the angel of God, very awesome. I didn’t ask him where he was from, neither did he tell me his name;

Then Manoah said to him,“ What is your name, so that we may honor you when your words come true?”“ Why do you ask my name,” the angel of the LORD asked him,“ since it is beyond understanding?”

“ Look,” the servant said,“ there’s a man of God in this city who is highly respected; everything he says is sure to come true. Let’s go there now. Maybe he’ll tell us which way we should go.”

A man of God came to Eli and said to him,“ This is what the LORD says:‘ Didn’t I reveal myself to your forefather’s family when they were in Egypt and belonged to Pharaoh’s palace?

This is the blessing that Moses, the man of God, gave the Israelites before his death.

Then he continued,“ I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look at God.

When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he said,“ Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it.”He was afraid and said,“ What an awesome place this is! This is none other than the house of God. This is the gate of heaven.”

The angel answered him,“ I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and I was sent to speak to you and tell you this good news.

I looked up, and there was a man dressed in linen, with a belt of gold from Uphaz around his waist.

The descendants of Judah approached Joshua at Gilgal, and Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him,“ You know what the LORD promised Moses the man of God at Kadesh-barnea about you and me.

When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man. He laid his right hand on me and said,“ Don’t be afraid. I am the First and the Last,

But you, man of God, flee from these things, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness.

She said to Elijah,“ Man of God, what do you have against me? Have you come to call attention to my iniquity so that my son is put to death?”

Then the angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire within a bush. As Moses looked, he saw that the bush was on fire but was not consumed.

So he approached where I was standing; when he came near, I was terrified and fell facedown.“ Son of man,” he said to me,“ understand that the vision refers to the time of the end.”

He said to me,“ Daniel, you are a man treasured by God. Understand the words that I’m saying to you. Stand on your feet, for I have now been sent to you.” After he said this to me, I stood trembling.

Then she said to her husband,“ I know that the one who often passes by here is a holy man of God,

Then Jacob asked him,“ Please tell me your name.” But he answered,“ Why do you ask my name?” And he blessed him there.

His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow.The guards were so shaken by fear of him that they became like dead men.

“ We’re certainly going to die,” he said to his wife,“ because we have seen God!”

Manoah prayed to the LORD and said,“ Please, Lord, let the man of God you sent come again to us and teach us what we should do for the boy who will be born.”

Then the woman said to Elijah,“ Now I know you are a man of God and the LORD’s word from your mouth is true.”

As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became dazzling white.

And all who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at him and saw that his face was like the face of an angel.

Elisha said,“ At this time next year you will have a son in your arms.” Then she said,“ No, my lord. Man of God, do not lie to your servant.”
