以撒因為他妻子不能生育，就為她懇求永恆主；永恆主應允他的懇求，他的妻子利伯加就懷了孕。

亞伯蘭的妻子撒萊沒有給他生兒女；可是撒萊有一個婢女，是埃及人，她名叫夏甲。
