掃羅說：『約拿單哪，你必須死；若不然，願上帝這樣懲罰，並且加倍地懲罰。』

所許的若是任何不潔淨的牲口、就是人不將這一類獻與永恆主為供物的，那麼他就要把牲口帶去站在祭司面前；祭司要估定牠的價值、是好是壞；祭司怎樣估定，就是怎樣。

那一天以色列人很窘迫，因為掃羅對人民起誓說：『凡未到晚上、我還未從仇敵身上報完了仇以前喫甚麼食物的人、都必受咒詛』；因此人民連嘗嘗甚麼食物都沒有。

我要拿燔祭進你的殿，向你還我所許的願，就是急難時我嘴脣所發，我口中所說出的。

『惟獨各樣的永獻物、就是人從他所有的永獻與永恆主、無論是人、是牲口、或是承受為產業的田地、都不可賣，也不可贖回；各樣的永獻物都是至聖、屬於永恆主的。凡永獻者就是從人之中永獻與上帝的、都不能被替贖；他必須被處死。

『你要告訴以色列人說：人若要還特許的願，就要照你所估定的將身價歸與永恆主。你所估定的、男的從二十歲到六十歲，你估定的價要五十舍客勒銀子、按聖所的秤稱的。

妓女所得的銀錢和狗倡所得的代價、你不可帶進永恆主你的上帝的殿來還願，因為這兩樣都是永恆主你的上帝所厭惡的。
