並不是我們憑自己配做甚麼事，我們之所以配做是出於神；

現在，耶和華－我的神啊，你使僕人接續我父親大衛作王；但我是幼小的孩子，不知道應當怎樣出入。僕人住在你揀選的百姓中，這百姓之多，多得不可點，不可算。所以求你賜僕人善於了解的心，可以判斷你的百姓，辨別是非。不然，誰能判斷你這麼多的百姓呢？」

你們中間若有缺少智慧的，該求那厚賜與眾人又不斥責人的神，神必賜給他。

大衛知道掃羅設計陷害他，就對亞比亞他祭司說：「把以弗得拿過來。」大衛說：「耶和華－以色列的神啊，你僕人確實聽見掃羅設法要到基伊拉來，為我的緣故毀滅這城。基伊拉人會把我交在掃羅手裏嗎？掃羅會下來，正如你僕人所聽見的嗎？耶和華－以色列的神啊，求你指示僕人！」耶和華說：「他會下來。」大衛又說：「基伊拉人會把我和我的人交在掃羅手裏嗎？」耶和華說：「他們會交出來。」

各樣美善的恩澤和各樣完美的賞賜都是從上頭來的，從眾光之父那裏降下來的；在他並沒有改變，也沒有轉動的影兒。
