They advanced against the Canaanites living in Hebron( formerly called Kiriath Arba) and defeated Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai.

Then the men of Judah marched out against the Canaanites living in Hebron. Hebron used to be called Kiriath Arba. The men of Judah won the battle over Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai.

And Judah went against the Canaanites who lived in Hebron( now the name of Hebron was formerly Kiriath-arba), and they defeated Sheshai and Ahiman and Talmai.

Judah marched against the Canaanites in Hebron( formerly called Kiriath arba), defeating the forces of Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai.

Judah also marched against the Canaanites who were living in Hebron( Hebron was formerly named Kiriath-arba). They struck down Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai.

希伯崙從前名叫基列亞巴；亞巴是亞衲族中最偉大的人。於是遍地太平、沒有戰爭。

他們取道南地上去，來到希伯崙；在那裏有亞衲人的後代亞希幔、示篩、撻買。（這希伯崙之建造比埃及的鎖安還早七年。）

以色列人照摩西所說過的、將希伯崙給了迦勒；迦勒就從那裏把亞衲人的子孫三族系趕出。

我又看：在日光之下、賽跑未必給輕快的先跑到，戰爭未必給勇士得勝利，糧食也未必給智慧人得着，財富未必給明達人賺得到，恩寵也未必給有知識的人博得着：他們所碰到的就只是定時與機會。

永恆主這麼說：智慧人不要誇耀自己的智慧，勇士不要誇耀自己的勇力，財主也不要誇耀自己的財富；

在那裏我們看見了巨人、亞衲人的子孫、屬於巨人一種的；據我們看、我們正如蚱蜢一樣；據他們看、我們也正如蚱蜢。

君王不能因軍兵多而得勝；勇士不能因力氣大而得救援；靠馬得勝是妄想；王並不能因軍兵多而蒙搭救。

約書亞照永恆主所吩咐他的、將猶大人中一分地業、基列亞巴、分給了耶孚尼的兒子迦勒；亞巴是亞衲人的祖（基列亞巴就是希伯崙）。迦勒就從那裏把亞衲人的三個兒子、示篩、亞希幔、撻買、趕出；他們是亞衲人的後代。他又從那裏上去攻擊底璧的居民；底璧從前名叫基列西弗。迦勒說：『誰能擊破基列西弗，將城攻取，我就把我的女兒押撒給他為妻。』迦勒的兄弟基納斯的兒子俄陀聶攻取了那城，迦勒就把女兒押撒給他為妻。押撒過門的時候，慫恿丈夫向她父親求塊田地；押撒一下驢，迦勒問她說：『你要甚麼？』她說：『請將一件祝福禮給我；你既給我住南地，求你也給我一塊有水的盆地。』她父親就把上盆地和下盆地都給了她。
