The tempter came and said to him,“ If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”But he answered,“ It is written,‘ Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’”Then the devil took him into the holy city. For it is written,‘ You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.’”Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and served him.

The great dragon was thrown down, the old serpent, he who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying,“ Now the salvation, the power, and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ has come; for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night.They overcame him because of the Lamb’s blood, and because of the word of their testimony. They didn’t love their life, even to death.

Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live?

subjecting yourselves to one another in the fear of Christ.

He said,“ Naked I came out of my mother’s womb, and naked will I return there. Yahweh gave, and Yahweh has taken away. Blessed be Yahweh’s name.”

Now don’t be stiff- necked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves to Yahweh, and enter into his sanctuary, which he has sanctified forever, and serve Yahweh your God, that his fierce anger may turn away from you.

Samuel told him every bit, and hid nothing from him. He said,“ It is Yahweh. Let him do what seems good to him.”

For being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they didn’t subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

Tell God,“ How awesome are your deeds! Through the greatness of your power, your enemies submit themselves to you.

Therefore subject yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether to the king, as supreme;

At the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and I praised and honored him who lives forever; for his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom from generation to generation.All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; and he does according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth; and no one can stop his hand, or ask him,“ What are you doing?”At the same time my understanding returned to me; and for the glory of my kingdom, my majesty and brightness returned to me. My counselors and my lords sought me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent greatness was added to me.Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven; for all his works are truth, and his ways justice; and those who walk in pride he is able to abase.

You shall be made to eat grass as oxen, and shall be wet with the dew of the sky, and seven times shall pass over you; until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever he will.

Again he sent the captain of a third fifty with his fifty. The third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and begged him, and said to him,“ Man of God, please let my life, and the life of these fifty of your servants, be precious in your sight.Behold, fire came down from the sky, and consumed the last two captains of fifty with their fifties. But now let my life be precious in your sight.”Yahweh’s angel said to Elijah,“ Go down with him. Don’t be afraid of him.” Then he arose, and went down with him to the king.

When I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.For day and night your hand was heavy on me. My strength was sapped in the heat of summer. Selah.I acknowledged my sin to you. I didn’t hide my iniquity. I said, I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh, and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

Then Job answered Yahweh,“ Behold, I am of small account. What will I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth.I have spoken once, and I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further.”

When he was in distress, he begged Yahweh his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.He prayed to him; and he was entreated by him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that Yahweh was God.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.

Say to the king and to the queen mother,“ Humble yourselves. Sit down, for your crowns have come down, even the crown of your glory.

Then Job answered Yahweh,“ I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be restrained.You asked,‘ Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?’ therefore I have uttered that which I didn’t understand, things too wonderful for me, which I didn’t know.You said,‘ Listen, now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you will answer me.’I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you.Therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.”

but if he says,‘ I have no delight in you;’ behold, here I am. Let him do to me as seems good to him.”

Rebuke the wild animal of the reeds, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the peoples. Being humbled, may it bring bars of silver. Scatter the nations that delight in war.

But rise up and enter into the city, then you will be told what you must do.”

He called for lights, sprang in, fell down trembling before Paul and Silas,brought them out, and said,“ Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”They said,“ Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

For it is written,“‘ As I live,’ says the Lord,‘ to me every knee will bow. Every tongue will confess to God.’”
