你們渴望而不能擁有，就殺人；你們嫉妒而不能獲得，就爭鬥、作戰。你們不能擁有，是因為你們不求；

你们贪恋，还是得不着；你们杀害嫉妒，又斗殴争战，也不能得。你们得不着，是因为你们不求。

爾貪欲而無所得、爾殘殺嫉妒而無所獲、爾戰鬥爭競而亦無所獲、皆因爾不祈求、

爾貪而不得、乃行兇殺；妒而不獲乃起爭奪。爾之所以不得者、以爾不求也；

You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.

You want something, but you don’t have it. So you kill. You want what others have, but you can’t get what you want. So you argue and fight. You don’t have what you want, because you don’t ask God.

You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask.

You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.

You desire and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and wage war. You do not have because you do not ask.

You lust and do not have, so you commit murder. And you are envious and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.

直到如今，你們沒有奉我的名求過什麼。你們祈求吧！就會得到，好使你們的喜樂得以滿足。

「不斷祈求吧，就會給你們；不斷尋找吧，就會找到；不斷敲門吧，就會為你們開門。因為凡祈求的，就得到；尋找的，就找到；敲門的，就為他開門。

如果你們中間有人缺乏智慧，他就應當向那慷慨賜予萬人又不責罵人的神祈求；神就會賜予他。

「我還告訴你們：不斷祈求吧，就會給你們；不斷尋找吧，就會找到；不斷敲門吧，就會為你們開門。因為凡祈求的，就得到；尋找的，就找到；敲門的，就為他開門。你們當中有哪個做父親的，兒子要魚，反而拿蛇當做魚給他呢？兒子要雞蛋，卻給他蠍子呢？所以，如果你們做為惡人也知道把好的東西給自己的兒女，更何況天上的父要賜聖靈給求他的人呢！」

耶穌回答她，說：「如果你明白神的恩賜，也知道是誰對你說『給我一點水喝』，你早就求他了，他也把活水給你了。」

至於那些想發財的人就會陷入試探、網羅以及很多無知有害的欲望裡；這些欲望使人沉溺在敗壞和滅亡中。要知道，貪愛金錢是萬惡之根；有些人戀慕金錢，就被迷惑而離開了信仰，用很多苦痛把自己刺透了。

有一個人孤單無伴，連兒子和兄弟也沒有；但他各樣的勞苦卻沒有窮盡，他的眼目也不因財富而滿足；他問：「我如此勞苦，也不讓自己過好日子，到底是為了誰呢？」這也是虛空，是極重的擔子！

現在來吧，你們這些富有的人哪！應當為那些將要臨到你們的慘禍而痛哭、哀號！你們的財富腐爛了；你們的衣服被蟲蛀了；你們的金銀也生鏽了，這鏽將成為控告你們的見證，又要像火那樣吃你們的肉。在這末後的日子裡，你們竟然積蓄財富！看哪！工人收割你們的田地，你們所剋扣他們的工錢正在呼叫，收割者的冤聲也已經達到萬軍之主的耳中了。你們在地上奢侈生活、享樂度日，為宰殺的日子養肥了自己的心！

一切貪圖私利者所行的路就是這樣，不義之財將奪去其擁有者的性命。

但亞哈斯說：「我不求，我不試探耶和華。」
