We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.

All of us get tripped up in many ways. Suppose someone is never wrong in what they say. Then they are perfect. They are able to keep their whole body under control.

For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.

Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.

如果有人自以为是虔诚的，却不克制自己的舌头，反而欺骗自己的心，这个人的虔诚就是虚妄的。

谨守自己口的，保守自己的性命；口无遮拦的，导致自己的败亡。

要知道，“那愿意爱惜生命、愿意见到好日子的人，要停止舌头出恶言，不让嘴唇说诡诈的话；

因为凭你的话，你将被称为义；也凭你的话，你将被定有罪。”

照样，舌头虽然是身体上一个小小的部分，却能大大地自夸。看哪，那么小的火，能点燃那么大的森林！舌头是火，它在我们身体的各部分中，是个不公义的世界；它玷污全身，焚烧人生的路程，而且自己却被地狱焚烧。

但要让忍耐发挥完全的功效，好使你们成熟、完备，在任何事上都没有缺欠。

然而，经上的话把万物都圈在罪孽之下，为要使这因信耶稣基督而来的应许，赐给那些相信的人。

世上实在没有一个行善而不犯罪的义人。

正如经上所记：“没有义人，连一个也没有；

他就当谨守舌头不出恶言，谨守嘴唇不说欺诈的话。

谁能说：“我保持自己的心纯洁，我是清洁无罪的”？

因此我发现一个法则：当我愿意行善的时候，恶就在我里面。

然而我不断克制自己的身体，使它服从我，免得我传道给别人，自己反而经不起考验了。

我们都像是不洁净的人，我们的一切公义都像污秽的衣服；我们都像叶子那样凋零，我们的罪孽像风那样把我们吹去。

我们传扬基督，用一切的智慧劝诫所有人，教导所有人，好让我们使所有的人在基督里成熟，能够献给神。

因为肉体的欲望与圣灵对立，圣灵也与肉体对立。这两者彼此反对，使你们不能做自己所愿意做的。

因为那遵守整个律法的人，只在一条上跌倒，就成了干犯所有律法的了。

在一切美善之事上使你们完备，好遵行他的旨意。愿神藉着耶稣基督，在我们里面行他看为喜悦的事。愿荣耀归于他，直到永永远远！阿们。

以帕弗拉问候你们；他来自你们那里，是基督耶稣的奴仆；他在祷告中，总是为你们竭力祈求：愿你们成熟、站立得住，在神的一切旨意中确信不疑；

然而，那赐一切恩典的神，就是在基督耶稣里召唤你们进入他永恒荣耀的那一位，在你们暂时受苦之后，将亲自使你们完备、坚固、刚强、根基稳固。
