In that day the Lord will use a razor hired from beyond the Euphrates River— the king of Assyria— to shave your heads and private parts, and to cut off your beards also.

At that time the Lord will use the Assyrians to punish you. Ahaz had hired them earlier from east of the Euphrates River. Now their king will be like a razor in the Lord’s hand. He will shave the hair from your head and private parts. He will also shave off your beards.

“人子啊，去拿一把快刀当作剃头刀，剃掉你的头发和胡须，然后用天平把须发平均分成三份。围城期满后，你要把三分之一的须发焚烧在城中，三分之一在城的四周用刀砍断，三分之一要扬在风中吹散，因为我要拔刀追杀他们。你要从须发中取出几缕用衣服包上，再从中取出几根丢在火里焚烧，必有火从这里燃起，蔓延到整个以色列。”

然而，斧头怎能向舞动它的人自夸呢？锯子怎能向用锯的人炫耀呢？难道棍子可以挥动举它的人吗？手杖可以举起它的主人吗？

我要差来亚述王的军队，使他们像幼发拉底河的洪流一样汹涌而来，淹没一切水道，漫过河岸，

你们为什么一再叛逆？你们还要受责打吗？你们已经头破血流，身心疲惫。

现在，我要把你们的国家交给我的仆人巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒，连田野的走兽也要归他管辖。各国都要臣服于他和他的子孙，直到他的国家灭亡。那时，许多国家和强大的君王必奴役他。

亚述王提革拉·毗列色来到犹大后，不但不救他，反而压迫他。亚哈斯从耶和华的殿里、王宫和官员家中取财宝送给亚述王，但无济于事。

耶和华说：“亚述王有祸了！他是我的愤怒之棍，他手中拿着我发烈怒的杖。我要差遣他去攻打一个不虔敬的国家，一个惹我发怒的民族，去抢夺、掳掠他们的财物，像践踏街上的泥土一样践踏他们。

亚哈斯差遣使者去见亚述王提革拉·毗列色，对他说：“我是你的仆人、你的儿子，现在亚兰王和以色列王攻打我，求你从他们手中拯救我。”亚哈斯把耶和华殿里和王宫库房里的金银送给亚述王。

“人子啊，巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒派兵苦攻泰尔，以致士兵的头都秃了，肩也破了，却是徒劳无功。

因此，耶和华要在一日之间铲除以色列的头和尾。头是指他们的长老和首领，尾是指教人虚谎之事的假先知。这些带领者使百姓步入歧途、走向灭亡。他们目无上帝，行事邪恶，口出狂言。所以，主不喜欢他们的青年，也不怜悯他们的孤儿寡妇。虽然如此，耶和华的怒气还没有止息，祂降罚的手没有收回。

耶和华必使埃及的海干涸，挥手用焦热的风使幼发拉底河分成七条溪流，使人可以涉水而过。

看啊，耶和华必摧毁大地，使大地荒凉。祂毁坏地面，驱散万民。那时，祭司和百姓，主人和仆人，主母和婢女，买的和卖的，贷的和借的，债主和债户都必同遭厄运。

他和他的军队为我效力，所以我把埃及赐给他作为酬劳。’这是主耶和华说的。

希西迦王执政第十四年，亚述王西拿基立起兵攻取了犹大所有的坚城。希西迦王差遣使者去拉吉见亚述王说：“我知罪了，求你退兵！我愿意满足你的任何要求。”亚述王向希西迦索要十吨银子和一吨金子。希西迦将耶和华殿里和王宫库房里的所有银子都给了他，又刮下他包在耶和华殿门和门柱上的金子，一并送去。
