Then Isaiah said,“ Listen well, you royal family of David! Isn’t it enough to exhaust human patience? Must you exhaust the patience of my God as well?

于是以赛亚说：“大卫家啊，你们要听！难道你们使人厌倦还不够，又要使我的神厌倦吗？

以賽亞說：「大衛家啊，你們當聽！你們使人厭煩豈算小事，還要使我的神厭煩嗎？

以賽亞說：「聽啊，大衛家！你們使人厭煩豈算小事，還要使我的上帝厭煩嗎？

以賽亞說：「聽啊，大衛家！你們使人厭煩豈算小事，還要使我的神厭煩嗎？

以賽亞說：「大衛的子孫啊，你們聽著！你們使人厭煩還不夠嗎？還要使我的上帝厭煩嗎？

以賽亞說：“大衛家啊，你們要聽！你們使人厭煩還算小事，還要使我的神厭煩嗎？

以賽亞說：『大衛家啊，你們要聽；你們使人發膩豈算小事，還要使我的上帝發膩麼？

於是以賽亞說：「大衛家啊，你們要聽！難道你們使人厭倦還不夠，又要使我的神厭倦嗎？

以賽亞曰、大衛家、其聽之、爾以勞人為細事乎、亦將勞我上帝乎、

以賽亞曰、大闢族宜聽我言、爾作不善、人已難堪、又必欲使上帝厭爾乎。

以賽亞曰、大衛家當聽、爾使人厭煩、以為細事乎、亦欲使我天主厭煩乎、

Then Isaiah said,“ Hear now, you house of David! Is it not enough to try the patience of humans? Will you try the patience of my God also?

Then Isaiah said,“ Listen, you members of the royal family of David! Isn’t it enough for you to test the patience of human beings? Are you also going to test the patience of my God?

And he said,“ Hear then, O house of David! Is it too little for you to weary men, that you weary my God also?

Isaiah said,“ Listen, house of David! Is it not enough for you to try the patience of men? Will you also try the patience of my God?

Then he said,“ Listen now, house of David! Is it too trivial a thing for you to try the patience of men, that you will try the patience of my God as well?

Then he said,“ Hear now, O house of David! Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also?

And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David: Is it a small thing for you to weary men, that ye will weary my God also?

Isaiah said,“ Listen, house of David! Is it not enough for you to try the patience of men? Will you also try the patience of my God?

And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David;[ Is it] a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?

So Isaiah replied,“ Pay attention, family of David. Do you consider it too insignificant to try the patience of men? Is that why you are also trying the patience of my God?

He said,“ Listen now, house of David. Is it not enough for you to try the patience of men, that you will try the patience of my God also?

You have not brought me fragrant calamus or pleased me with the fat from sacrifices. Instead, you have burdened me with your sins and wearied me with your faults.

So I was angry with them, and I said,‘ Their hearts always turn away from me. They refuse to do what I tell them.’

“ Then you took your sons and daughters— the children you had borne to me— and sacrificed them to your gods. Was your prostitution not enough?

But Leah angrily replied,“ Wasn’t it enough that you stole my husband? Now will you steal my son’s mandrakes, too?” Rachel answered,“ I will let Jacob sleep with you tonight if you give me some of the mandrakes.”

But they rebelled against him and grieved his Holy Spirit. So he became their enemy and fought against them.

All day long they insult me to my face by worshiping idols in their sacred gardens. They burn incense on pagan altars.At night they go out among the graves, worshiping the dead. They eat the flesh of pigs and make stews with other forbidden foods.Yet they say to each other,‘ Don’t come too close or you will defile me! I am holier than you!’ These people are a stench in my nostrils, an acrid smell that never goes away.

Isn’t it enough that you brought us out of Egypt, a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us here in this wilderness, and that you now treat us like your subjects?

But you have not merely sinned as they did. You quickly surpassed them in corruption.

You have wearied the Lord with your words.“ How have we wearied him?” you ask. You have wearied him by saying that all who do evil are good in the Lord’s sight, and he is pleased with them. You have wearied him by asking,“ Where is the God of justice?”

So now I am filled with the Lord’s fury. Yes, I am tired of holding it in!“ I will pour out my fury on children playing in the streets and on gatherings of young men, on husbands and wives and on those who are old and gray.

The news had come to the royal court of Judah:“ Syria is allied with Israel against us!” So the hearts of the king and his people trembled with fear, like trees shaking in a storm.

O Lord, I will honor and praise your name, for you are my God. You do such wonderful things! You planned them long ago, and now you have accomplished them.

Therefore, the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the Mighty One of Israel, says,“ I will take revenge on my enemies and pay back my foes!

Isn’t it enough for you to keep the best of the pastures for yourselves? Must you also trample down the rest? Isn’t it enough for you to drink clear water for yourselves? Must you also muddy the rest with your feet?

“ Now listen to this, and announce it throughout all Israel,” says the Lord, the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies.

But the Lord did not want to destroy David’s dynasty, for he had made a covenant with David and promised that his descendants would continue to rule, shining like a lamp forever.

Does it seem insignificant to you that the God of Israel has chosen you from among all the community of Israel to be near him so you can serve in the Lord’s Tabernacle and stand before the people to minister to them?

The Lord, the God of their ancestors, repeatedly sent his prophets to warn them, for he had compassion on his people and his Temple.But the people mocked these messengers of God and despised their words. They scoffed at the prophets until the Lord’s anger could no longer be restrained and nothing could be done.

This is what the Lord says to the dynasty of David:“‘ Give justice each morning to the people you judge! Help those who have been robbed; rescue them from their oppressors. Otherwise, my anger will burn like an unquenchable fire because of all your sins.

“ You stubborn people! You are heathen at heart and deaf to the truth. Must you forever resist the Holy Spirit? That’s what your ancestors did, and so do you!

He has sent us a mighty Savior from the royal line of his servant David,
