When Ahaz son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, was king of Judah, King Rezin of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel marched up to fight against Jerusalem, but they could not overpower it.

Ahaz was king of Judah. Rezin was king of Aram. And Pekah was king of Israel. Rezin and Pekah marched up to fight against Jerusalem. But they couldn’t overpower it. Ahaz was the son of Jotham and the grandson of Uzziah. Pekah was the son of Remaliah.

In the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, son of Uzziah, king of Judah, Rezin the king of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah the king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to wage war against it, but could not yet mount an attack against it.

When Ahaz, son of Jotham and grandson of Uzziah, was king of Judah, King Rezin of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah, the king of Israel, set out to attack Jerusalem. However, they were unable to carry out their plan.

This took place during the reign of Ahaz, son of Jotham, son of Uzziah king of Judah: Aram’s King Rezin and Israel’s King Pekah son of Remaliah went to fight against Jerusalem, but they were not able to conquer it.

Now it came about in the days of Ahaz, the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Aram and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up to Jerusalem to wage war against it, but could not conquer it.

「這百姓既厭棄西羅亞緩流的水，喜歡利汛以及利瑪利的兒子，

萬民哪，任憑你們行惡，終必毀滅；遠方的眾人哪，當側耳而聽！任憑你們束腰，終必毀滅；你們束起腰來，終必毀滅。任憑你們籌算甚麼，終必無效；不管你們講定甚麼，總不成立；因為神與我們同在。

他們同謀奸詐要害你的百姓，彼此商議要害你所保護的人。他們說：「來吧，我們將他們除滅，使他們不再成國！使以色列的名不再被人記念！」他們同心商議，彼此結盟，要抵擋你；

比加轄的將軍，利瑪利的兒子比加背叛他，在撒瑪利亞王宮的堡壘殺了他。亞珥歌伯和亞利耶並基列的五十人幫助比加；比加擊殺他，篡了他的位。

亞哈斯登基的時候年二十歲，在耶路撒冷作王十六年。他不像他祖先大衛行耶和華眼中看為正的事，卻行以色列諸王的道，又鑄造諸巴力的像，照着耶和華從以色列人面前趕出的外邦人所行可憎的事，在欣嫩子谷燒香，用火焚燒他的兒女，又在丘壇上、山岡上、各青翠樹下獻祭燒香。耶和華－他的神將他交在亞蘭王手裏。亞蘭王打敗他，從他擄走了許多人，帶到大馬士革去。神又將他交在以色列王手裏，以色列王向他大行殺戮。利瑪利的兒子比加一日之內在猶大殺了十二萬人，都是勇士，因為他們離棄了耶和華－他們列祖的神。

對他說：『你要謹慎，要鎮定，不要害怕，不要因利汛和亞蘭，以及利瑪利的兒子這兩個冒煙火把的頭所發的烈怒而心裏膽怯。因為亞蘭、以法蓮，和利瑪利的兒子設惡謀要害你，說：我們要上去攻擊猶大，擾亂它，攻破它來歸我們，在其中立他比勒的兒子為王。主耶和華如此說：這事必站立不住，也不得成就。因為亞蘭的首都是大馬士革，大馬士革的領袖是利汛；六十五年之內，以法蓮必然國破族亡，以法蓮的首都是撒瑪利亞；撒瑪利亞的領袖是利瑪利的兒子。你們若是不信，必站立不穩。』」

當烏西雅、約坦、亞哈斯、希西家作猶大王的時候，亞摩斯的兒子以賽亞見異象，論到猶大和耶路撒冷。
