彼與其祖、焚香山岡、辱我特甚、自取咎戾、我必罰之、適當其罪。

主曰、爾之罪愆、與爾列祖之罪愆、皆因在山焚香、在岡褻瀆我、我必先度其所行而施報、

看哪，你們這一夥罪人，竟然接續你們父執之輩，再增加耶和華對以色列所發的怒氣。

我豈不因這些事施行懲罰嗎？像這樣的國家，我豈能不報復呢？這是耶和華說的。

看哪，這些都寫在我面前。我必不靜默，卻要施行報應，將你們和你們祖先的罪孽全都報應在後人身上；因為他們在山上燒香，在岡上褻瀆我，我要按他們先前所行的，報應在他們身上；這是耶和華說的。」

萬軍之耶和華開啟我的耳朵：「這罪孽直到你們死，斷不得赦免！」這是萬軍之主耶和華說的。

這樣，你們就證明自己是殺害先知的人的子孫了。你們去充滿你們祖宗的惡貫吧！你們這些蛇啊，毒蛇的孽種啊，怎能逃脫地獄的懲罰呢？所以，我差遣先知、智慧人和文士到你們這裏來，有的你們要殺害，要釘十字架；有的你們要在會堂裏鞭打，從這城追逼到那城，如此，地上所有義人流的血都歸到你們身上，從義人亞伯的血起，直到你們在聖所和祭壇中間所殺的巴拉加的兒子撒迦利亞的血為止。我實在告訴你們，這一切的罪都要歸到這世代了。」

你們倖存的人必因自己的罪孽在敵人之地衰殘，也要因祖先的罪孽衰殘。

約沙法效法他父親亞撒所行的道，不偏離左右，行耶和華眼中看為正的事。只是丘壇還沒有廢去，百姓仍在那裏獻祭燒香。

並在丘壇上、山岡上、各青翠樹下獻祭燒香。

未曾在山上吃祭物，未曾向以色列家的偶像舉目；未曾污辱鄰舍的妻，也未曾在婦人的經期間親近她；
