He said,“ Go and tell this people:“‘ Be ever hearing, but never understanding; be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’

So he said,“ Go and speak to these people. Tell them,“‘ You will hear but never understand. You will see but never know what you are seeing.’

And he said,“ Go, and say to this people:“‘ Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’

And he said,“ Yes, go, and say to this people,‘ Listen carefully, but do not understand. Watch closely, but learn nothing.’

And he replied: Go! Say to these people: Keep listening, but do not understand; keep looking, but do not perceive.

And He said,“ Go, and tell this people:‘ Keep on listening, but do not understand; And keep on looking, but do not gain knowledge.’

And He said,“ Go, and tell this people:‘ Keep on hearing, but do not understand; Keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’

And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

And He replied: Go! Say to these people: Keep listening, but do not understand; keep looking, but do not perceive.

And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

He said,“ Go and tell these people:‘ Listen continually, but don’t understand! Look continually, but don’t perceive!’

He said,“ To you it is given to know the mysteries of God’s Kingdom, but to the rest in parables; that‘ seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’

In them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says,‘ By hearing you will hear, and will in no way understand; Seeing you will see, and will in no way perceive:for this people’s heart has grown callous, their ears are dull of hearing, they have closed their eyes; or else perhaps they might perceive with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, and would turn again; and I would heal them.’

that‘ seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest perhaps they should turn again, and their sins should be forgiven them.’”

“ He has blinded their eyes and he hardened their heart, lest they should see with their eyes, and perceive with their heart, and would turn, and I would heal them.”

The Lord said,“ Because this people draws near with their mouth and honors me with their lips, but they have removed their heart far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment of men which has been taught;

saying,‘ Go to this people and say, in hearing, you will hear, but will in no way understand. In seeing, you will see, but will in no way perceive.For this people’s heart has grown callous. Their ears are dull of hearing. Their eyes they have closed. Lest they should see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, and would turn again, then I would heal them.’

Bring out the blind people who have eyes, and the deaf who have ears.

According as it is written,“ God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, to this very day.”

They don’t know, neither do they consider: for he has shut their eyes, that they can’t see; and their hearts, that they can’t understand.No one thinks, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say,“ I have burned part of it in the fire. Yes, I have also baked bread on its coals. I have roasted meat and eaten it. Shall I make the rest of it into an abomination? Shall I bow down to a tree trunk?”He feeds on ashes. A deceived heart has turned him aside; and he can’t deliver his soul, nor say,“ Isn’t there a lie in my right hand?”

Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and inscribe it in a book, that it may be for the time to come forever and ever.For it is a rebellious people, lying children, children who will not hear Yahweh’s law;who tell the seers,“ Don’t see!” and the prophets,“ Don’t prophesy to us right things. Tell us pleasant things. Prophesy deceits.Get out of the way. Turn away from the path. Cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.”

Then Yahweh said to me,“ Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind would not turn toward this people. Cast them out of my sight, and let them go out!It will happen, when they ask you,‘ Where shall we go out?’ then you shall tell them,‘ Yahweh says:“ Such as are for death, to death; such as are for the sword, to the sword; such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for captivity, to captivity.”’

Yahweh spoke to Moses,“ Go, get down; for your people, who you brought up out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves!They have turned away quickly out of the way which I commanded them. They have made themselves a molded calf, and have worshiped it, and have sacrificed to it, and said,‘ These are your gods, Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt.’”Yahweh said to Moses,“ I have seen these people, and behold, they are a stiff- necked people.Now therefore leave me alone, that my wrath may burn hot against them, and that I may consume them; and I will make of you a great nation.”

He said,“ Call his name Lo- Ammi; for you are not my people, and I will not be yours.
